Sacred 3 Details and Screens

After acquiring the series license from the now insolvent Ascaron Entertainment, publisher Deep Silver have finally revealed some information about their upcoming RPG sequel, Sacred 3. Development duties are being handled by Keen Games, who previously made TNT Racers.



The story will focus on a group of heroes who are seeking the Heart of Ancaria, before the ruler of Ashen Empire, Zane Ashen, gets his hands on it. Why this fuss over a heart? Well, it's supposed to grant its bearer the ability to choose the fate of the world. As with the previous games (Sacred and Sacred 2: Fallen Angel), Sacred 3 will be set in the 'colorful and varied' world of Ancaria, which features a 'rich mythology and diverse regions and climates.' Familiar environments, such as the ruins of Castle Braverock, will be present alongside new areas to explore.

The game will feature a four-player co-op mode and will allow players to choose from a large range of combat arts, perks and equipment as they take on the roles of several character classes, including the Safiri Warrior and Ancarian Lancer.

Deep Silver are also working on an XBLA side-scrolling brawler prequel for the game, entitled Sacred Citadel. Take a look at more details for that game here.
