| Crap. Now I gotta go rent this thing. It was my second game played on my 360 - purely by my friend. It was going to be one of the last games I tackled in completion percentage, but I guess this hurries the process. |

Ultima Online, an EA PC MMORPG which is nearly dead still has it's main server online. |

Stupid EA.
When I buy a game, I like to think I will have full access to all the features. When anybody buys an EA game, they get a disc, and rent the features on it. |

| This is getting annoying. And yet I think I may voice my displeasure by buying the game and getting these achievements before the servers go offline. Yet another reason why online achievements are the devil. |

Yea this is getting annoying. It was the same with NFS PRO STREET RACE DAY ACHIEVMENT!!!!!
But if any1 is still missing the SKATE ACHIEVMENT can u add me so i can get it done.

The current economic climate shows that they are trying to save money where they can, and one part of this is shutting servers down. Just gotta live with it. I am not saying that i agree, but a company has to make money to operate. |

But EA can't be struggling surely? They're one of the biggest names out there.
Why exactly do EA have their own servers again? I'm sure it was mentioned before but I can't remember. |

Then why not switch the feature and allow users to become dedicated server hosts.
It's because it's not about saving money, it's about making money, EA don't make money off people buying pre-owned old games, this way if you want to play an EA game online you'll need to invest in the new titles!
They're just using the current state of the economy as an excuse. |

It's both. They're hosting the servers so paying money out of their corporate pocket to do that, and it must've got to the point where its not active enough to be commercially viable anymore. In this economic times, cutting down on their servers saves EA money, as well as giving them more funding for future games. |
