Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening Trailer Released

Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening Trailer Released

Even more BioWare goodness!

Posted by WeisGuy9 on 07 February 10 at 15:32

BioWare has released a new action-packed trailer for the upcoming release of Awakening, a full disc expansion for Dragon Age: Origins.

Awakening is set to release on March 16, 2010 and is reported to include several hours of new content, 5 new characters/party members, new equipment and spells, and best of all, we get to go to Orlesia.

I'm still trying to choke down the $40 USD price tag, but hey, if you wanna play you gotta pay.

Hit the external link to check out the trailer and a short article from GameInformer.

For all it's got and I am sure a few surprises. I really am fine with the price. 5 new characters sounds interesting. Cant wait for it to be released.

Wow...this trailer did nothing for me. Absolutely nothing. I'm still looking forward to this, and playing more DA at some point, but this trailer didn't engross me, or even give me a chill. So disappointing.

Very steep price tag but I'm sure it will be worth it. BioWare tend to deliver with promises of something being great and I doubt this will be an exception.

Ok, the trailer did absolutely nothing. I can handle the price if the content stands up to it, but for $40 it better be deep. Paying close to the same price as another full title it has a lot to shoot for.

Just 100% Dragon Age. Looking forward to this DLC, though the price seems rather steep for only several hours.

Anyone know if this expansion adds achievements to the original game, or is it a new set?

I hear ya, but the word that makes me hesitant is "expansion." $40 for an expansion is a bit steep IMO. And who knows how much "several hours" actually is. I usually stick to a few characters in an RPG, so the new characters isn't a selling point for me. I definitely want it and will get it one day, but I'll wait until I get more info before I commit to the $40.

Is this going to be somewhat like Halo 2's map packs? Where you buy the disc, download it, then put the normal game disc back in?

Probably, but I doubt the disc will be reusable since we're dealing with EA here.

I'm thinking there will most likely be a "Bioware Pack" soon enough. I'm going to wait for that, to be honest.

I usually interpret several as 4 or 5 -ish, so I think $40 would be rather steep. But maybe several means 10.

Well, normally an expansion is at least a campaign's length (Not RPG) which is normally near 10 hours. Then, seeing as Dragon Age is an RPG, it's got incredible replay value and you can get over 50+ hours out of it.
