We know what Stone Cold Steve Austin will be downloading

Written by N0T PENNYS B0AT on 25 September 12 at 03:18

Two more games are due out this Wednesday. One will revisit the origins of a famous series and the other will introduce players to some colorful, trippy imagery.

Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit
Developer: Arkedo Studios
Publisher: SEGA
Price: 1200 MSPYou're an angry rabbit with a thirst for vengeance, a super sawing jetpack driller and some seriously badass weapons. Explore, jump, shoot, loot, upgrade, drill and destroy Hell's monsters. ALL OF THEM. Unleash the wrath of the dead rabbit in 10 huge levels packed with hidden areas, side quests and cursed souls to harvest.Charging through Hell on your jetpack driller, you're on a quest to find out who had the balls to post your intimate photos all over the Hell-ternet. It's payback time! While you’re at it, why not use this incredible journey to kill everybody else? There's only one way to do this - FULL FRONTAL VIOLENCE sponsored by over-powered missiles, rockets and grenades! Inflict ultimate humiliation on the monsters of Hell using deadly “Finish him!” mini-games (includes the signature Dinosaur beheading). Grab as much loot as you can and spend it in big shops where you can buy bigger guns and awesome upgrades for your ride.Marvel vs. Capcom Origins

In Marvel vs. Capcom: Origins, you get two classic 90s Marvel arcade games for the price of one! Both Marvel Super Heroes and Marvel vs. Capcom play like their original arcade versions – with fast-paced, over-the-top fighting action – but now feature upgraded HD visuals and customizable appearances, online play, replay-saving and spectator mode, and a dynamic challenge system that earns points for unlockable goodies. Fight like a hero, play like a legend!

big mistake putting that rabbit game at 1200. it's a new ip. i get they want to maximize profits, but they are surely not going to maximize units sold this way

800 should be the default. you make 5 bucks less profit on each, but you will probably sell more than three times as many copies. since there's no overhead on digital downloads besides the cost of getting the data to the purchaser, there's no excuse for this time after time. i've taken operations management and there is a handy equation that will even tell you if this is more profitable, and it's not.

then again maybe these 1200 point games are selling well and i'm just being ignorant. all i see it as is them charging more for it initially, then putting it on sale if it doesn't sell well which is when everyone buys it. so it's a smart strategy, but they could have made more initial funds by putting it on for 800 and not having a sale, since people are more likely to buy a new release at 800 than an old game on sale for 800.

Valid point! 1200 must be selling well because 800msp sounds like it would sell way better but who knows? I'm buying Marvel Origins anyways but I'll be the first to tell you that both games are (IMHO) only worth 400msp a piece. I say that and I'm still buying it at 1200 guess I'm a hypocrite hahaha

im almost certain they do it because they can put it on sale if it doesn't sell well, they're trying to get as much out of it as they can. it's a smart move but again, they'd sell way more initially this way and through word of mouth (if the game is good) it'd sell a lotttt quicker

Marvel vs Capcom Origins does not have X-Men vs. Street Fighter, Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter, or X-Men: Children of the Atom.

Fuck that.

Hell Yeah! for me then.

They almost invariably go on sale eventually anyway. 1200msp is $20nzd locally for me. For those prices I can buy full retail games from two years ago from online stores.

Meh, I need to buy one of those newer controllers for fighter games. Why the xbox controller had a retarded d-pad is beyond me but I do like the newer ones and haven't had a reason yet to get one and I can see why they're pushing fighting games now.

P.S.
1200 msp games are the norm now. Stop being cheap idiots and pay for the ones you'll enjoy and stop crying about prices when all you care about are achievements that mean nothing in the end. Buy the game you enjoy and do the achievements for it as achievements aren't a goal but a helpful way to show you what you've missed from a game.

But I'm more willing to take a chance on a 400 or 800 point game.

They look very meh to me. I wouldnt pay 800MSP for either of them, let alone 1200. I never pay 1200MSP for for an arcade game ever, and dont call me cheap, i have about 150 XBLA titles so fuck off lol.
