Once again, it's time to pre-check your knickers, gamers, as we're about to show you some more gameplay footage from Dead Space 3. This time, we'll be escorted through the spaceship, Eudora, by the Creative Director and Senior Audio Artist for the title.

Be sure to keep a supply of clean drawers handy when Dead Space 3 drops on February 5th in North America and February 8th in Europe.

Dead Space doesn't need co-op. Way to take the 'Survival' out of Survival Action.

The games set-pieces look almost Uncharted-esque at the beginning of this video. Not that it's a bad thing, but an interesting direction for Dead Space. Whether you can qualify it as "survival horror" or "survival action", or whatever you kids were calling it, anymore... you have to admit it looks cool lol.

That said, I won't be participating. The brief bit I played of the Dead Space 1 demo was kind of annoying and boring... so this is one series I'm not very interested in.
You deserve better than this, and I deserve to be alone.

I didn't feel the desperation they were trying to evoke in the first scene, the stop / start animation of the stumbling was off-putting. It was also a recycled animation. Instead, you could definitely have Isaac pushing back off the ceiling or falling onto his knees and crawling. Have the character react with the scenery around him! Just anything to stop him stopping, the clock is ticking remember. I think they tried to do too much OMGWTFBBQ!!! moments in the beginning and that ruined it. This goes wrong, then this goes wrong and whilst that goes wrong, this goes wrong. Yawn.

The "flying through space at 100mph" scene looks like a glorified loading screen.

I did like when you finally made it onto Eudora and there were very few sound effects. It was tense, it set the scene, I felt isolated, but then pretty much a minute later, the "new" enemy is revealed. Which I believe happened way to quickly. Also, Isaac's reaction time... Wait until you have defeated the three enemies until you react> If Isaac reacted straight away and the guys on the radio responded with "What, What?" then Isaac tried to explain in a panic. That would have created a sense of urgency and panic, when you should really be panicking.

We could have seen a few mummies before one tried to kill us. Imagine not knowing what they are for a bit. What are they? Have they been infected? Will they attack? Will they attack?! The horror genre needs to sort itself out, but oh well, at least it looks nice.

I'm not saying it will be better or worse, but you should still be able to get the bulk of fun from playing by yourself.

I myself am not much for co-op either in these types of games (i indeed played RE5 solo), but if its there I will take it for spin and give it a chance.
