Meet the Savages of Far Cry 3

Meet the Savages of Far Cry 3

Their names would be Vaas and Buck

Written by Matrarch on 28 September 12 at 00:13

Sure, the majority, or perhaps the entirety, of Ubisoft's upcoming Far Cry 3 may take place on a remote island, but that doesn't mean that island is populated with dull or boring characters. We've learned in recent weeks what it will take to survive the island, but now we get a better look and who it is that might be making survival difficult.

Let us introduce you to two key individuals: Buck and Vaas

Buck

This is Buck. Buck is a former member of the Australian armed forces who was dismissed due to his penchant for inflicting pain. In the wake of his dismissal, he took to mercenary work, which eventually brought him into contact with the South Pacific's most notorious drug-runner and slave trader, Hoyt Volker. Buck soon entered Hoyt's employ and is now quite loyal to him.

Vaas

This, here, is Vaas, who may sound familiar because there will be a "12cm Vaas Wahine with bobble head" included with the UK-exclusive Insane Edition of the game, though this fellow is apparently called Vaas Montenegro. Vaas was originally intended to be the inheritor of the power of his people, the Rakyat. His sister, Citra, actually handled leading the tribe while Vaas was groomed to be its greatest warrior. Unfortunately for the Rakyat, he abandoned this responsibility and has instead taken to kidnapping innocent people for the same Hoyt Volker that Buck works under.

Want to see how brutal these two can be? Then check out the following video:

Far Cry 3 will be released on November 30th in Europe and December 4th in North America. Head here for details on the GameStop pre-order bonus for the title.

Even with the intimidation of completing the other two, I'm looking forward to eventually getting around to playing this one. Even if the list is a pain in the ass.
