Agent 47's take on multiplayer

When multiplayer was announced for Hitman: Absolution, many feared tacked on deathmatch-style gameplay action that would ill-fit the sneaky habits of Agent 47. The folks at IO INteractive have released a behind-the-scenes video which hopefully dispelled some of those fears.

The multiplayer mode, named Contracts, is a new online mode which allows gamers to create and share their own custom hit challenges within the Hitman: Absolution game. Players will choose a level, targets, weapons and then set their own rules for completing the contract based on time, style and witnesses. Contracts allows fans to compete against friends at any time, regardless of whether they are online. The game will also ship with many pre-set Contracts, each designed by the most devious minds in the development team.



Hitman: Absolution is due to be released worldwide on November 20th.

I think this could be great, I am sold already so even if the multiplayer aspect is a flop, I won't mind. And if it's great then that's just gravy.

Many devs are tacking on multiplayer to increase the odds of people buying there games as about 80% of the games I see sell well either must have a multiplayer or be open world (mainly because people need more replayablility for there money) but this seems like a good edition without actually getting a true multiplayer. Hopefully more developers follow suit

As for Absolution this seems like a nice addition but I'm anticipating the Main Story more so than this.

game developers kill games when they put multiplayer in them when the other games of that series didnt have any like GTA4,max payne 3 do i need to mention any other games

More of an online challenge mode than a MP but its a great idea, much preferred over PvP multiplayer which would have essentially ruined the game. Looking forward to it!
