Retail Releases: Week of October 1st, 2012

Hey, wait, there's no giraffes in this game!

Written by N0T PENNYS B0AT on 01 October 12 at 18:08

A few big titles make their debuts this week, and others play regional catch-up. The biggest one is likely to be the newest iteration in Capcom's long-running Resident Evil series. Despite the sometimes ugly reviews it's been getting so far, it should still attract a lot of attention from series veterans. Here's the full lineup for this first week of October.

NBA 2K13
Resident Evil 6

Still to try Resi 6 but i heard the demo was bad but when i tried the demo of KOA:R i hated it but then a lot of people said the demo was a bad representation of the full game so you never know Resi 6 just might turn out good after all cos i love KOA:R

Resident Evil 6 is getting a lot of awful reviews, it has a score of 69 on metacritic. It's not looking good, but I will still give it a try.

Giraffes?

OH WAIT, the logo totally looks like a Giraffe getting head. Once you see it, you can't unsee it.

I ordered RE6. Despite the fact that 5 sucked so hard I want to give this series another chance.

Heh giraffes. Look at the logo (warning rule 34 applies)

On topic: Picking up RE6 after exams. I hope with the level up system that we're able to level up the movement of when we point our gun. Was super slow in the demo

My friend got an early copy from a mom and pop store that broke street date here in Brooklyn..... Let's just say that I'm starting to feel embarrassed to admit I'm a Resident Evil fan. Between RE5, 6 and the movies, I feel like the butt of a really terrible and continuously worsening joke. For those of you still interested by all means pick it up, it's your God given rite to do so but if you're looking for a connection to the games of old, you will be bitterly and severely disappointed.
My only complaint with wireless controllers is that there's nothing to slow em down when I throw em.

Honestly, thanks for explaining the giraffe because I didn't get it, and, as you said, now I cannot un-see it!

Glad other people commented on the movement. I'm actually playing RE5 right now, and so I thought I'd try the RE6 demo and was amazed at how it was like, and yet not like, RE5. And I like RE5's movement a lot better (which is not something I ever expected to say).
I have a pathetically high tolerance for grinding.

I agree with a lot above. The demo for RE6 makes me think it's gonna bomb. I was so un-interested playing it.

Got my copy of Resi 6 last week and am through all the campaigns...I played all the old Resident Evil games and of course it´s not old school anymore...but it´s also not as bad as many people say...it´s a fun coop-shooter with a long playtime...story also isn´t so bad...it only has not much to do with the old Resi games

Haven't played the classic RE games (unfortunately, because I really want to) or RE4. I played the crap out of RE5 and still am not bored with it. I played the crap out of the RE6 demo in anticipation of this game. Games never really scared me (talking about you Dead Space and Silent Hill) but I do enjoy horror. I am looking forward to the game because I will have a friend for the 3 co-op campaigns and Ada's will be great too. If only the Anthology edition was coming out for the 360...

I will try Resident Evil 6 but the demo made my soul die a little. I hope it's good!

People its time you move on. The Resident Evil games will never go back to the way they were in 1-3. Either enjoy them for what they are now, or go play something else. Please stop complaining that they changed the games every time a new RE game is released

Good joke Raezie, highly doubt this one will flop. It's got a solid fanbase even though most of them love to complain. Hell a lot of these people fold and get it anyway. laugh Personally I'm waiting on it primarily because they shafted anybody who supported them with their collectors edition.
