Forza Horizon Demo Detailed

Nothing says "we're getting close to launch" quite like a launch trailer. You know what else says "we're getting close to launch"? A demo. If you put these facts together with the announcement from Microsoft, Turn 10 and Playground Games that both of these things are being released in support of their upcoming open-world racer, Forza Horizon, then you know release day isn't too far off.

Let's start with a look at that trailer:

In the demo, which will be available only to Xbox LIVE Gold members during its first week before expanding to availability for everyone, players will get to experience a variety of the locations the game offers. The Demo will also have the "Rivals Mode" activated, allowing players to compete with their friends for the best times on certain events.

Anyone who downloads the demo and then later purchases and plays the full game will get "a specially designed custom 2013 SRT Viper GTS, which was designed to highlight Forza Horizon's "gone-gold" status", so be sure to get in on the demo if you want this unique car!

The Forza Horizon demo will be available for download for Gold members on October 9th, meaning it should be available to all on October 16th.

If you're then looking to purchase the game so you can get your 2013 SRT Viper GTS, then you still have till the end of the month to get in on some retailer-specific pre-order bonuses, as well as time to acquire a VIP membership, which will give access to exclusive content. The game will also have a Season Pass, which you can get the full details of here.

Forza Horizon will be released in North America on October 23rd and in Europe on October 26th.
