Dishonored is a game that puts choice in the hands of the player, thus offering different approaches to the same objective. osubluejacket abundantly wrote about the openness of this new IP, in the first Achievement Preview Spotlight feature.

If a look at the achievement list was not enough to drive the point home, Arkane Studios has released a new trailer, in which you follow Corvo during a mission. The video is particularly effective in detailing the branching paths in gameplay, as you will dictate how it plays out. At certain points during the mission, the video will pause and different approaches will be suggested to you. Pick stealth, arcane powers or open conflict and lead Corvo to his goal, but pick carefully as the wrong choice will lead you to an early grave.



Dishonored is set for a release on October 9th in North America and October 12th in Europe.

Really neat video. I like how they tried to incorporate the decision making opportunities of the game by letting you choose the next segment. And the ending was intriguing - I've been keeping a eye on the various trailers and media releases for this game, but that was the first we've seen of the Outsider (I suspect he's the same mysterious individual who helped Corvo escape in the first trailer). Definitely looking forward to this game!

Kind of bored me a little bit actually.

Maybe I just think I like these stealthy, multiple path games and I wind up being kind of bored by them. Too much slowly walking around and thinking lol.

This is definitely a game for me but with a backlog of games & a few inevitable patches from the dev this might be a Christmas present to myself instead.

Judging by the comments, this isn't the first video in this interactive set. Anyone have the link to the first?

Also, this game looks great. Can't wait to pick it up Tuesday.
