The content is finally here

Written by punkyliar on 06 October 12 at 14:36

Microsoft were having major issues yesterday with uploading new content to the marketplace. At midnight GMT, neither the DLC nor the two XBLA games due out yesterday had become available. This has now changed and I can finally bring you yesterday's overdue DLC roundup. There are DLC releases for four XBLA games. Two of the games add extra achievements to their lists and one game has region exclusive DLC. Here is this week’s list:

Kung-Fu Strike: The Warrior's Rise
• "Kung Fu Master Levels“ – 240 MSP
Want to prove you're the supreme kung fu fighter? Then download this Challenge Pack for arcade brawler Kung Fu Strike and put yourself to the ultimate test with eight new challenges that push your reflexes to the limit. Battle scores of increasingly deadly enemies before trying your hand at the final, brutally difficult, challenge... but be warned; it's not for the faint of heart.Sonic Adventure 2
• "Sonic Adventure™ 2: Battle Mode DLC“ – 240 MSP (this has three new achievements worth a total of 100G)
Up the ante in the fight between heroes and villains with Sonic Adventure 2’s Battle Mode DLC! To access the Downloadable Content, please restart the game from the Xbox Dashboard.Trials Evolution - more details here
• "Trials Evolution: Origin of Pain“ – 400 MSP (this has achievements)

Got Sonic yesterday, got the DLC this morning, now it's basically a copy of my Gamecube version which is sat next to my Xbox laugh
Feels very strange to be playing it on the Xbox though.

On another note, I've always loved the artwork for SA2.

Damn, almost makes me want to get the Sonic Adventure ports. I recall having a pretty good time in battle mode with friends.

Not to mention I really did like the games as a whole back in the day.

Even then, he had NOTHING to do with the Xbox Live Marketplace, never mind the pricing of games. facepalmthank you for being a voice of reason. i may not enjoy some of the nickle and dime tactics some companies employ (capcom i'm looking at you warning), but you cannot begrudge them for trying to make some money. the fact is you can buy a copy of sonic adventure 2 (battle content included) for $13. its in hd, has achievements, etc. its likely to be more future proof than the dc and gc releases. plus, people eagerly paid $20-$50 last generation for the title. nights and jojo's bizarre adventure are another couple of good examples. you want to play those games on disc, you're going to pay a lot more than getting it off the marketplace.

and for the record, microsoft isn't a person. if it "retired", it would take the whole damn infrastructure with it. bill gates is also a hell of a humanitarian.

Anyone stupid enough to willingly pay for sonic adventure 1 or 2 and dlc should see a doctor. They are both horrendous crap when they were released. Now just crap with added achievements! Plus I'm not payin 4 anything until I can actually connect to Xbox live. 6Hours today and MS just said we are doin our best. Glad my £40 a year subscription equals good service!

Digital releases are about as far from future proof as you can get. Licenses can't be pulled for discs nor can they be pulled from the marketplace. At least not in anyway that affects anyone who already has them.

You confuse me. Guy with the Tails gamerpic telling everyone to not buy two of the most respected 3D Sonic games because they were horrendous crap even when they were released originally. Could you at least hate on games that aren't being depicted with your online persona? laugh

I loved the games, back in the day at least, not sure I'm going to jump all over them now though. Maybe sometime down the road when/if they are on sale.
