UK Deal Roundup for October 9th, 2012

The best of the UK prices

Written by KeithBGray on 09 October 12 at 10:53

Amazon and Zavvi return this week with the biggest range of promotions among the chosen retailers. Amazon brings a relatively large number of deals to light with its Special Offers. Zavvi has started multiple new promotions, which include an early Christmas bonanza and a sub-£30 pre-order deal.

ASDA, Blockbuster, GAME, GamesCentre, HMV and Tesco have all got much smaller promotions to offer. Each of those retailers has only one or two games in their individual deals.

As usual you need to click on the name of the retailer or the name of the deal to be taken straight to the retailer’s offer page. Clicking on the name of a game will take you to the achievement list.

All prices are correct at the time of writing, and subject to change at any time at the retailer's discretion.

New Sales

Amazon has a large selection of Special Offers running at the moment alongside the usual Bargains (see links for the Bargains in the recurring sales section). The sheer number of Special Offers means they are separated into several pricing categories. Here's a snapshot of what's included:

£10 and under
http://www.trueachievements.com/Fable-III/achievements.htm - £9.99
Rise of Nightmares - £6.98
http://www.trueachievements.com/Tintin/achievements.htm - £8.97
uDraw Studio: Instant Artist (includes Game Tablet) - £8.75

Between £10 and £20
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - £14.99
Darksiders II (includes Argul's Tomb expansion) - £19.98
Gears of War 3 - £15.93

Between £20 and £30
Battlefield 3 - £24.91
Madden NFL 13 - £26.27
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - £24.98 (matched by GAME)
The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings (Enhanced Edition) - £22.97
Transformers: Fall of Cybertron - £24.99 (also matched in Play's recurring Price Crash promotion)

ASDA is coming out fighting this week, by offering Dead or Alive 5 at £29.97.

Blockbuster's Deals of the Week section has Dishonored priced at an honourable £34.99, ahead of its much-anticipated release this Friday.

GAME has The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, the overall winner of TA's 2011 Game of the Year awards, for a dragon-slaying £24.98.

GamesCentre has altered some of the Special Offers again this week. F1 2012 at £29.99 and Metro 2033 (Classics) at £7.99 are the only deals worth a mention though.

HMV's Sale has started once again. Max Payne 3 at £15 is the one title that manages to save the day!

Tesco has matched Amazon's Special Offers' prices on both Madden NFL 13 at £26.27 and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings at £22.97

Zavvi has Fable: The Journey available for pre-order for only £29.75. It's another title that's due for release this Friday!

Zavvi's Recommended Games promotion has a few notable inclusions.
Disney Pixar Brave: The Video Game - £19.95
L.A. Noire - £12.95
NBA 2K12 - £19.95 (matched at TheHut)
Red Dead Redemption - £14.95
Spec Ops: The Line - 17.95

Zavvi's Saving Christmas promotion may seem a little early given that we haven't reached Halloween yet, but it'll give you plenty of time to find the perfect gift for your gaming-crazy loved ones or simply treat yourself!
Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood (Classics) - £9.95
Call of Duty: Black Ops (Classics) - £14.95 (matched by TheHut)
Far Cry 2 / http://www.trueachievements.com/GRAW/achievements.htm Double Pack - £9.95
Halo: Reach - £9.95
Rainbow Six Vegas / http://www.trueachievements.com/Splinter-Cell-DA/achiev....htm - £9.95

Madden 13's already back to £41 on Tesco's site.
When life gives you lemons, rinse them for as much gamerscore as possible.

Some good new deals. Shame it would be really hard to get good TA's on the Tom Clancy games, the games were really good if I remember correctly.

I want to get Skyrim, but I just have a feeling there will be an edition released with the DLC. So I think I'll just wait it out, plenty of other games to keep me busy in the meantime.

something that may be of interest to some of you is that ZAVVI are doing a preorder offer for the new MOH. you get the ltd edition for £19.99 if you buy a certain t-shirt at £14.99 (think there is a choice of 5 or 6).
so for game and tee-shirt its £34.99 (for the game alone its £39.99)....i was gonna get the game anyway so thought why not
