007 Legends Trailer & Screens Fall From the Sky

Did you celebrate Global James Bond Day?

Written by Dat Boi Treezy on 08 October 12 at 23:42

As one who's not too familiar with the James Bond films or games, I'm not entirely sure exactly what people do to celebrate Global James Bond Day. I'm guessing it ranges from the pretty obvious of watching a few James Bond movies to the extreme of taking your imaginary Jaguar for a spin through the countryside, killing a few goons with a huge array of ridiculous weapons and then bagging yourself a hot vintage piece of meat to go on your way home.

Eurocom, the developers behind the upcoming James Bond shooter, 007 Legends, decided to celebrate with the release of the games opening credit cinematic trailer, which features the "original theme by David Arnold and score by Kevin Kiner".

On top of this, Eurocom and Activision have released a few screenshots for 007 Legends.

Global James Bond Day - 08.10.12 - Screen 2

Global James Bond Day - 08.10.12 - Screen 4

Global James Bond Day - 08.10.12 - Screen 5

007 Legends is set for release on October 16th for North America, and October 19th for the UK.

I'm excited for it!

I am really... intrigued at how much retconning they have been doing via the games to really solidify Daniel Craig as James Bond.

Great clip...and I'm a little more excited than I was, but I'm not holding my breath. The real problem with the modern Bond titles is that Activision is behind them. They just take a Call of Duty approach EVERY freaking time!!! Bond fans aren't looking for some COD model that just cuts and pastes a few James Bond fandom pieces. We want something that FEELS like James Bond. The past few titles feel more like they just dropped James Bond into the world of COD. I would like to hope this one will be different...but I don't think Activision realizes they have a problem. Not every shooter should be a COD knock off. In fact, no one ever said Bond has to be a FPS either. I think it could make for a great third person perspective title if done right...but no one is really willing to go there because it's too risky and to much work to build it from the ground up. It's cheaper to cut and paste from COD.
SHOUT SOMETHING USELESS NOW!!!

Very pretty opening cinematic scenes. I wasn't really into the latest release of Goldeneye, but I hope this one turns out much better.

I did. To celebrate I shagged a life-sized cardboard cut-out of Halle Berry. Yum. Terrible paper cuts though.
