Halo 4 Multiplayer Dev. Diary

Halo 4 Multiplayer Dev. Diary

To Infinity and beyond

Written by SgtDigglesworth on 17 October 12 at 21:36

The new developer diary from 343 Industries details the immense amount of changes that gamers will dive into once the multiplayer chaos begins in Halo 4.

Including new character customisation, a scoring system that focuses on not only kills, but everything from objective based protection to assists and medals that will contribute to filling your ordinance meter to allow for special supply drops, to grenades and so forth, Halo 4 promises a multiplayer experience unlike any other in the series to this point.

The developer diary sheds a lot of light regarding the changes you can expect in Halo 4 MP and the differences between the previous games of the series.

Halo 4 will release on November 6th.

There goes my hope for a decent oldschool halo multiplayer...

On the other hand, I do like the feel I get from looking at it. Let's see if that feel stays when I get to play.

The fact that they're bringing into Halo 4 means they're pandering to the CoD fanboys. It'll help them with sales as the weaker players will be able to compete, but I'm afraid it might be a net loss for the franchise in terms of quality.

Ugh... To me Halo is about everyone being on equal ground fighting and strategically moving about the map to gain positional advantage and weapons. Why in the world they would keep elements from Reach everyone hated is a bad idea ( Armor Abilites and Loudouts). I might give it a spin for a week until Im consumed with Black Ops 2.

took them long enough to bring some decent pages from call of duty. At least now wont have to quit a match due to people leaving or getting disconnected at the start.

I'm more than willing to accept it because its BETTER than staring at your corpse for like ten seconds while someone t-bags you. I'd rather see how somebody kills me. Lol

Game looks great, less than three weeks to go!

This trailer has actually made me more excited for it than I already am. I CANNOT WAIT!

On a sidenote, I have a question: The retailer where I ordered the Halo 4 Limited Edition has got something which troubles me... A friend of mine bought AC: Revelations Animus Edition there, and he received it a full WEEK (7 DAYS!) before the actual release date of the game... So if it happens that I receive Halo 4 a full week before the release date, should I play it on my origional account? Or can I get banned for doing that? As far as I know, Microsoft won't ban someone for playing a game before the release, as long as the game is on a disc (So no JTAG Xbox or whatever it is called)...

Is this true? Any comment as an answer would be appreciated :)

It will still be there. They've already confirmed that there will be standard Halo playlists where everybody starts with a standard loadout. I'm very glad to hear this. I think having the option to do both will make you feel like more of a BA when you use your loadouts and give it more meaning.

I'm not going to say that I'm an authority on this kind of thing but I'm fairly certain they won't do anything with that. That doesn't mean that the retailer won't get the smack down... but people win contests for early copies and other people get early copies for reviewing purposes and what not. I highly doubt that they "register" game disks OR consoles that are used for these purposes.

Ugh... Armor Lock.

I'm really hoping for a solid rocket race playlist though. On mongooses that gametype was arguably my favorite thing to play.

If you get it a week in advance then there can be certain complications. If the retailer released it earlier then it should without the consent of MS it and possibly you can get into trouble. In the case of reviewers and so forth who get the game early they receive NDA (Non-disclosure agreements) and have to register the gamertag to participate in the MP process and other aspects of the game. If the reviewer or someone else has not registered their GT with the agreement, a permanant ban can apply.

All in all it is better to be safe then sorry when it comes to stuff like this. If that did occur you may have to contact microsoft and give them a copy of the receipt as proof and claim you didn't know any better. It is highly unlikely that any retailer would give copies early without consent because of the ramifications for breaking street dates.

Hopefully this helps in some way.
Cheers
