BioShock Infinite Collector's Editions Announced

Take my money... TAKE IT!

While the holiday season is in the midst of swamping us with games, one (initial) date has come and gone without too much fanfare. Let this fact roll around your mind for a few minutes:

BioShock Infinite was supposed to be released on Tuesday/Tomorrow.

Crazy, right?

Fortunately for gamers, Irrational bumped back the game to this winter, giving us more time to enjoy the rest of the holiday bounty. Today, in an attempt to soothe the savage beast of gamers angered by the delay, they have finally revealed the details on two different Collector's Editions of their upcoming shooter.

The first edition is the Premium Edition which is set to include the following:

* a 64 page mini-edition Art of Columbia art book
* a 25mm resin-cast Handyman figure which ties in to the upcoming BioShock Infinite board game
* a 5x7 inch lithograph depicting propaganda for Devil's Kiss vigor
* a Murder of Crows replica bottle keychain
* the digital soundtrack
* three exclusive in-game power-ups
* exclusive Booker and Elizabeth costumes

The Ultimate Songbird Edition is set to include all of the previously mentioned swag and one big addition: a 9.75 inch statue of Songbird designed by Irrational's concept artist Robb Waters.

Now I know what you're all thinking:

SHOW ME THESE THINGS, NOW, obj!Even though you didn't say, "Would you kindly," I'm more than happy to oblige.

And now we get to the sticking point, the sticker price. The Premium Edition will cost you $79.99 and the Ultimate Songbird Edition will run you $149.99. You can set up your pre-orders through many retailers (starting on October 22nd) on the BioShock Infinite official site.

You may now resume throwing money at the screen, but you won't be able to get your hands on either of these copies until BioShock Infinite drops on February 26th, 2013.

This will be the best $150 i've spent on anything, and I think the in-game powerups might be similar to the Free Plasmids you got for Bioshock.

I know it'll be at Game here in the UK, they always grab the collectors, but wondering whether it'll be £99.99 or £129.99 like the Resi 6 one was. I may just stick with the premium edition as im (hopefully) getting the replica Skyhook too.

Melee strikes from a sprint have a chance to knock the enemy down.

Extra! Extra!
Audio logs also grant a bounty of “Silver Eagles” — in-game currency.

Betrayer
Killing your possessed enemies causes them to explode in a fireball that deals damage.

Bioshock: Infinite will almost certainly contain multiplayer.

The game was delayed from this October to do polishing up on some things, Irrational hired someone with experience making multiplayer stuff. Then a couple of months ago Ken Levine tweeted that they removed 2 multiplayer modes from the game as the team were not fully satisfied with them. He did not say that they had removed multiplayer. We can only hope that if there is multiplayer, it is better than the horror that is in Bioshock 2.
LifeExpectancy - The new Star Trek is awesome. So what if it feels like a quasi remake of one of the old ones? It's done very well!

Yikes... $70 for the statue basically. I guess it's all relative since I'm buying the Halo 4 console and the GAEMS Vanguard myself next month... but at least I can use those. I just can't see paying $70 for a statue you can't use that will collect dust.
