UK Deal Roundup for October 23rd, 2012

The best of the UK prices

Written by KeithBGray on 23 October 12 at 12:26

Amazon is endeavouring to keep everyone connected! GamesCentre's Special Offers return and change again this week, bringing titles that have not featured previously. HMV, Play and Tesco have began smaller promotions.

GameStop, ShopTo and Zavvi all do battle in the big-money market, with each retailer offering different console bundles.

All prices are correct at the time of writing, and subject to change at any time at the retailer's discretion.

New Sales

Do you need to renew your Xbox LIVE membership? Amazon are offering a 12-month subscription for £29.99.

Skylanders fans have been getting plenty of love recently. The theme continues with Amazon and ASDA matching each other on the price of the all-new Skylanders Giants Starter Pack. Both retailers have the pack available for £52.47.

GAME is slightly more expensive than its rivals for Doom 3: BFG Edition but if you’re prepared to part with a few more pence at £24.99, then the retailer will throw in the Anarchy Edition of RAGE for free.

The Special Offers at GamesCentre continue to evolve. This week, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is £31.99 and Virtua Tennis 4 is £9.55. The Xbox Live Hits Collection (which includes the mega-selling XBLA trio of Limbo, Splosion Man and Trials HD) is available for the princely sum of just £6.55.

GameStop has a Xbox 360 4GB Slim console for just £129.97. Sharp-eyed consumers should also notice that you can bundle the console with FIFA 13 for a further £19.97 (from the same linked page), meaning that both items are available for a total of £149.94.

HMV’s Games Sale sees Band Hero at £6, Max Payne 3 at £15 and Tony Hawk: RIDE at £10.

The …Recommends promotion at Play has http://www.trueachievements.com/KoA-Reckoning/achieveme....htm at 14.99 and Skate 3 at 14.89.

If you like the sound of the Xbox 360 console and FIFA 13 bundle deal at Gamestop but need more memory capacity, then look no further than ShopTo. The retailer has a bundle offer of its own – a 250GB Slim Xbox 360 console, a copy of FIFA 13 and Forza Motorsport 4 and a download code for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. The full package costs £209.86.

Tesco is offering 350 bonus Clubcard points on pre-orders of family-themed titles. Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two is the only Xbox 360 title in the promotion.

Tesco’s Games Bargains section brings over 100 items at £20 or less. A small selection of the available titles is highlighted below:
http://www.trueachievements.com/Assassins-Creed-II/achi....htm - £13.43
Call of Duty: Black Ops - £17.71
Carnival Games - £7.91
http://www.trueachievements.com/Deus-Ex-Human-Rev/achie....htm - £7.21
Saints Row 2 - £8

Zavvi is taking a similar approach to GameStop and Shopto, with the console bundle deals from a couple of weeks ago making a return. The retailer has the Holiday Bundle (a 250GB Xbox 360 Slim console, Forza Motorsport 4 and a download code for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim) priced at £179.99. For an additional £20, you can add one of these titles from the selection of this year’s biggest releases: Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two, Far Cry 3, Halo 4, LEGO Lord of the Rings, Medal of Honor: Warfighter, Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2012), Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 or Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed.

Might pre-order Epic Mickey 2 at Tesco. Virtually getting £3.50 off. Not bothered about whether I get the game day of release or not.

Can anyone tell me if Tony Hawk: Ride includes the skateboard as well?
I'm at work and I can't get on the website (stupid school filtering) and hmv will be closed by the time I finish.

£29.99 for a years membership?

I don't see why people still buy memberships and points from websites and shops when if you ring up Microsoft themselves they charge much less for memberships and points as you don't pay for unnecessary packaging for a tiny card with a number on.

I think my year only cost me £24 by ringing them up, and they were even nice enough to give me some free points to buy a download for constantly buying with them.

Thanks.
I might have to get it. I'll probably only ever play it once but it seems like something kids will enjoy when they visit.
