2K Games has announced that XCOM: Enemy Unknown will soon be receiving two new single player content packs. The first of the two packs is the "Slingshot" Content Pack, a set of linked Council missions with a unique story arc, that take place on three new maps.

Over the course of the new missions, players will have to divert an alien ship’s course, and do combat against the aliens in the skies over China. In addition to the three new maps, which will unfortunately not be available in multiplayer, the DLC will include a new playable character, Zhang, an enigmatic Triad operative with a unique story and voice. New character customization options will also become available. A second pack will be announced at a later date.

The price and release date for “Slingshot” have yet to be revealed but will be announced soon. The previously pre-order only bonus content, "Elite Soldier Pack" was made available this week for a price of 400 MSP.

Hopefully Zhang isn't at all like Mr. Chow, though there looks like some similarities!

More maps and more aliens please!

I'm sure old Amiga one had Snakemen in it.. or was that my imagination.

Game of the year for me!

Snakemen were an integral part of Xcom. I'd love to see them return in an expansion!

What I really want to see is some tweaks to the game, like more skills to choose from, more soldier types, etc.

"the DLC will include a new playable character...with a unique story and voice"
Unique story? I assume they mean the dlc missions themselves, not exactly a lot of depth to the characters.

I wonder if you can still do these missions if China leaves the council. I'm curious to see the character customization options. I have the Elite pack from pre-ordering but you can't always customize your armor. Some of the sets are locked.

Cant remember the exact wording of it but the thin men are supposed to be the snake men, i think its to do with how they take the different forms for infiltration. Id still like to see snakemen anyway.

Oh blackmamba! I think you're right. I remember reading that somewhere too now that you mention it. Ah well, thin men are pretty creepy too. And I *think* they are A-sexual, just like the snake men!

Be good if they added some new aliens, all the current ones are from the original or variations on them. I think there are still some missing that were in the original game but cant remember exactly. Would be good to have some brand new aliens added to the series aswell.

I will be picking up the DLC. This title should be be mentioned in the top 10 games in 2012, but will most likely be listed in the top 10 "Games you missed in 2012"

I finally put Borderlands 2 down and started XCOM last night, it is freaking awesome. I loved the original and tactics games in general though, doesn't seem like a lot of gamers do.
