Windows Phone Release: November 14th, 2012

Sonic CD for Windows Phone was first announced in August 2011. The XBLA game came out in December of that year, with everyone assuming the WP version would follow shortly after.

The months went on without any word on the status of the title. Today though, the game sees the light of day on Windows Phone devices. Was SEGA holding out until Windows Phone 8 devices hit the market? It's a plausible theory, and should be noted that the game is compatible with either WP7 or 8.

Sonic CD (WP) - $4.99/£3.99
It’s time to usher the past into the future with this enhanced recreation of Sonic CD!

In order to put an end to Dr. Eggman’s nefarious schemes, Sonic must use the power of Little Planet to travel through time; breaking Dr. Eggman’s hold over the future by destroying his machines in the past and recovering the missing Time Stones!

Now featuring 16:9 widescreen, achievements, leaderboards and both the US and Japanese soundtracks, experience the adventure through time that introduced the world to Amy Rose and Eggman’s most evil creation, Metal Sonic.
