I liked Brink, and I'm a pretty cranky gamer. The story isn't terribly long, but I enjoyed the story and voice acting. Some of the missions were damned hard, but then I either leveled up, figured out the trick, or played online and got through them.
This is one of the rare games where I actually liked the multiplayer. For every mission, you play once as one faction and then once as the other faction. In the middle of a mission, I get a party request from a stranger. It turns out the other side was partied up and they just couldn't win this mission against my side, so I switched and joined their side and we got through it. We stuck together and played several more rounds together.
I have a pathetically high tolerance for grinding.
