Ubisoft have released a slew of new videos showing off different elements of their soon to be released open-world action sequel, Far Cry 3
The first video is a trailer demonstrating some of the hardware available to players, including: sniper rifles, and bows and arrows for silent assassins; handguns, SMGs and shotguns for those who like to get up close and personal; assault rifles, machine guns and rocket launchers for those who like a bit of versatility; and flamethrowers for those who are sick in the head and like watching melting flesh. All of your weapons can be customised, upgraded and modified. Players can also develop their weapon abilities through branching skill trees which, in a rather novel touch, are reflected visually by tattoos on their character.
We also get a gameplay video that focuses on the player going back to basics with a bow and arrow, and hunting beast, man and car.
Speaking of hunting, the next video shows our hero taking on some of the less human, but no less dangerous, inhabitants of Rook Island and then skinning them, presumably to make a winter coat.
Find the silent hunter approach a little too tedious? Check out the next gameplay video, which shows the player taking a more explosive approach.
Finally, we get a video showing some gameplay from the co-op campaign, as two players defend their beloved boat, the 'Prime Mistress', from some invading pirates.
Far Cry 3
