i don't get why they're doing this.
seriously, a new background, new blade and shadow doesn't bring much to the game.
for this game at least, i can clearly say : no new achievements = no buy. |

| I think you can only include achievements with DLC in the first 4 quarters following release and/or must do so every quarter. So because it's been so long since the last DLC they may not be allowed to do so. If I wasn't on my phone I'd research the MS rules. |

| Fruit Ninja is already 350G and that is the maximum for 200G games. Why do they release more DLCs then? Because the game sold well and it requies minimal effort (i.e.: money) to make new backgrounds / blades / shadows. I bet they make a good profit on every dlc. |

A few other 200 point games have gone beyond 350. A World of Keflings has 450 achievement points, and Full House Poker is up to 400 points.
The policy for Microsoft regarding DLC for arcade games is " whatever the hell we want, when we want, now shut up and buy the damn DLC". |

I love this game to death however I agree a new blade, background and shadow is not worth going back. The achievements made it worth it because THOSE we actually fun. They could be worth a max of 5G added in the DLC but I would buy for it because 1. completion and 2. it's way more fun.
If I were to download this I'd get about 30min of enjoyment then never play again. With achievements I'd get enough enjoyment until I finish the game. The last DLC (that had achievements) gave me wayyy more play time and it was worth it. |

no achievements, no buy... maybe later when i have a few points left to spend, because this one looks amazing :) got the trick'n'treat dlc for free through facebook :) and the flower power is worth 160 msp imho :P
or maybe when they are on sale for 80 msp, i can consider spending that! |

Isn't that the main point of playing Video Games. To have fun..Yes I could because all this game has to offer is Score....earning more score....
Achievement wise it offered Score requirements, grinding and luck based achievements.
The main point to playing video games is to have fun. However this game isn't fun enough after you have spent a lot of time into it.
First week it came out I hit rank 16 on the leaderboard without even trying. Sure I could have maybe tried for a higher spot but beating people that are way to good at the game isn't fun for me it's work. Grinding is work to don't get me wrong but at least with the new pack I'll have something to look at for a moment...before I get sick of both the DLC and it's grindy achievement but it will add more time invested and possibly more FUN time invested that way. Earning achievements is fun (aside the luck ones as they INVOLVE Luck) and give me something interesting to do (like earn a certain score under a certain time) and sure maybe I could make up my own challenges but with an achievement I just got rewarded for my task.
If anything this needs a new game mode DLC to add some real kick into this game. A new mode without achievements I probably would buy as I have new things to explore.... but a new mode with a brand new set of achievements is a whole new fun challenge that awaits me to be explored and conquered . |
