Skate 3 Release Date Confirmed

Skate 3 Release Date Confirmed

Skate or die! D-d-d-d-die!

Written by zigs00 on 17 March 10 at 16:25

EA Black Box today confirmed the release date for Skate 3, now set to hit store shelves in North America on May 11th and Europe on May 14th.

The game will expand of the previous Skate titles, continuing to expand the gameplay and scope wider and wider. This time around, the setting is the all new Port Carverton, a new city built from the ground up as a total skater's paradise. The game will focus far more on co-operative gameplay and creating a team of skaters either offline or over Xbox LIVE.

Check the Related Story link below for more information about what's new in Skate 3, but here's what else EA Black Box have said today:

“Since the very beginning of the Skate franchise, we have captured the true essence skateboarding, be it from the feel of nailing that perfect trick, to the feeling of just hanging out and sessioning with your friends,” said Jason DeLong, Senior Producer. “For us, SKATE 3 is the culmination of this endeavor – the most connected, accessible and social skateboarding experience yet.”

In the all-new Skate.School, Coach Frank acts as a mentor and teaches newcomers the ropes by showing them all the ins-and-outs of skateboarding as they hone their skills on the sticks before hitting the streets with their team. Veterans will also feel right at home in Skate.School as they refresh their skills but also learn all the new tricks SKATE 3 has to offer including darkslides and underflips.

Gamers can hit the streets with the pros in the all-new city of Port Caverton – a true skater’s paradise with unique districts, skate parks, and endless lines. For fans with a creative flair, the new Skate.Park editor allows gamers to create their own dream plaza or mega-ramp park from scratch or use the Object Dropper to alter the landscape of Port Carverton to truly change the face of the city. In the end, SKATE 3 delivers a completely immersive and connected experience giving gamers the tools to build and share their own skate parks, videos, and photos with all their friends by uploading them directly from their console or importing custom created graphics & logos from the Skate website.

Also confirmed today is the full roster of skaters that'll be featured in Skate 3. The list is impressively long, including a number of Skater of the Year winners (as well as plenty of familiar faces from skate. and Skate 2): Mark Appleyard, Ray Barbee, Joey Brezinski, Dennis Busenitz, John Cardiel, Mike Carroll, Chris Cole, Jason Dill, Dan Drehobl, Rob Dyrdek, Pat Duffy, Benny Fairfax, Ryan Gallant, Chris Haslam, Jerry Hsu, Josh Kalis, Terry Kennedy, Eric Koston, P.J. Ladd, Colin McKay, Darren Navarrette, Lucas Puig, John Rattray, Andrew Reynolds, Braydon Szafranski and Danny Way, as well as former-skater-current-actor Jason Lee as Coach Frank.

And finally, Black Box have confirmed that there will be a demo for the game before its release, but no date has been set for it yet.

I'm not interresed, 1st was awesome, I've still got it (and play it), 2nd was just "good+" (one walktrough, few achieves and give away). From what I read about 3rd it becoming some like Tony Howk series.

Looks like Jason Lee has jumped franchises (having not played skate 2, maybe that already happened). Let's hope for Teenage Bottlerocket's "Skate or Die" on the soundtrack.

Loved the first two skates. So this is a no brainer for me. Just have to finish off Skate 2 first.

I loved the Tony Hawk skateboarding for PS1 when it was just a button press to do an ollie but now it's way too complicated with the whole stick configuration they've got going. Might pick this up to play with a couple mates but that's more or less it.

HAH. Tony Hawks Pro Skater is a joke compared to Skate.

I hate TH games mainly because of the unrealisticness of it. As a skater myself, I find the best experience is with skate. and Skate 2.

Can't wait for number 3.... Keep it real EA.

Well...I also grew up with the Tony Hawk series. But I lost my "love" to the game since Tony Hawk 3. And skate. freshed up the skateboard franchise and it became one of my favorite franchise! Had my problems with the controls in the beginning, but now I just find them perfect! I really look forward to the 3rd skate.! Way to go EA...!
