Army of Two: TDC TWO Unmasked Part 2

By Lexley Ford, 3 years ago
Back in December, we brought you a selection of screens and a video showcasing TWO operatives Alpha and Bravo working together to bring down members of the Mexican cartel in Visceral Games' upcoming Army of TWO: The Devil's Cartel. Included within this torrent of information was the first part of "TWO Unmasked", which explained why TWO operatives always work in pairs.

Today we are happy to bring you part two of “TWO Unmasked”, in which journalist Carrie Keagan joins with operatives Pike and Baker to discover what inspired Salem and Rios to form Tactical Worldwide Operations.

Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel is due to be released in North America on March 26th, 2013 and across Europe on March 28th, 2013.

Part of me wants to get this. Unfortunately, after seeing how EA handled the previous installments (MP that lags, servers that close, achievements for DLC that dont unlock, and no patches to fix anything), I will most likely pass.

I woke up and thought the mask creator had been fixed. Fuccck. This was a horrible trailer as well. She's so out of place and annoying.

As I've said before, I will no doubt get this for the co-op since I enjoyed playing the first two. But damn I really hope there won't be many multiplayer achievements... Not only do I hate multiplayer at the best of times, but the threat of server closures makes things even worse facepalm
I like what I like and I don't what I don't.

What's the PMC company called again? I didn't get the first 10 times she said it.
Ok enough jest.
I really am going to avoid this game until it's $10 bargain bin and all of the Xbox Live required achievements that you know EA is going to throw in there are still unlockable. Due to the horrible post launch treatment of both the first 2 games, I really am not excited about this. Server shut down for the 1st Army Of Two was nothing compared to the fact that the game is sold on Live on demand service that still list it as an online enabled game. Not to mention EA still sells the SSC Challenge Map Pack for 600 msp when it's only accessible thru online play. So if you do buy the dlc, you can't play what you just bought at all. As far as I know that's 600 msp that are not refundable. The 40th Day wasn't any better. Practically no online updates, no map packs to add to the 6 original maps, severely and permanently glitched dlc achievements if you don't get all of the dlc achievements before the online ones and now they shut down the mask creator with no announcement. Not even attaching Visceral Games makes me want to get this at release. Not to mention, how is this game going to even hold a candle to any of the 3 core Dead Space titles when Visceral has spent almost 2 years developing Dead Space 3 and Army Of Two: Devil's Cartel was announced August of last year? And Dead Space 3 is going all out on co-op also. I'm getting the feeling if you want a polished and creative 3rd person co-op shooter from Visceral, get Dead Space 3, if you want a rushed and generic 3rd person co-op shooter from Visceral, get Devil's Cartel.
This sucks since I like Visceral's Dead Space games and I like the co-op campaign with friends on the Army Of Two games, but with all this mistreatment of the franchise, mainly from the publisher, I just don't feel this game is worth purchasing new.

I would also suggest to anybody with the game to get the online achievements for 40th Day soon since the servers for it will most likely but shut down a few months after the game is released in an attempt to boost the sales of Devil's Cartel. Or because there is less than 1% of people playing it. Whatever crap excuse EA comes up with this time.

I'm still on the fence about getting this. The first one was fantastic. Probably the best game of its kind I've ever played. The 2nd one, well, its probably my least favourite game on this console that I've played. So yeah, god knows.

If they don't fix that mask achievement in 40thDay, I'll never buy this one and make sure my twinbrother also doesn't!

I've been so cautious of EA games lately. I'm having to tip toe around games that I think will have their servers closed
