Gamer Goals v3

By Rich Stone, 6 years ago
It's been a very busy time for me recently, and unfortunately I haven't had as much time as I would like to have had to develop new features.

However, something I have been working on are some improvements to the Gamer Goals.

These have now been completely rewritten as you will see if you add a new one.

Firstly, the goals are now split into 2 sets - Personal Target and Overtake Gamer.

If you choose Personal Target, you can now choose 2 new types - Win Achievement and Complete Game. These (rather obviously) allow you to set up a target of getting either a single achievement or to complete a game.

Also, all the goals now have the options of being based on All Games, Arcade Games, or Retail Games, and the appropriate ones also have the option of excluding DLC.

When you combine these options, there are now 27 different goal types!

Which is pretty awesome I think you'll agree.

This rewriting is also in preparation for v4 of Gamer Goals which will introduce races with other gamers.

Other Stuff
As usual there's some other bits and pieces in this update, not least of which is a re-written site search - if you use the search in the top right corner of each page you'll see new icons to help differentiate the item that matches your search.

I've also re-vamped the "My Friends Scores" panel on game pages - this now includes your own score, shows up to 25 friends, and if you click the More button will take you to a new sortable list of all your friends scores for that game.

Private Message blocking should now work properly, and I've also done some work on the messaging system to make it obvious when you get an automatic site message to differentiate it from a message from me.

There's probably a lot more stuff kicking around, but it's been a while and I can't remember it all laugh

So have a dig around and find out!

Thanks, and have a cracking Easter!
