Retail DLC Roundup: February 5th, 2013

Tau Volantis and the Bulgarian Colossus bring death on two legs

Written by punkyliar on 05 February 13 at 23:39

This week sees DLC releases for eight Xbox 360 retail games. None of the games add extra achievements to their list and two of the games has region exclusive DLC. Here is this week’s list:

Dance Central 3
• "What Makes You Beautiful - One Direction" – 240 MSP

Dead Space 3
• "Tau Volantis Survival Kit" – 1200 MSP
This premium pack bundles together the Scavenger Bot Accelerator along with the Marauder, Sharpshooter, and Tundra Recon Suits, and the AL-9 Clearcutter, SMP-90 Sharpshooter, and Aegis VII Survivalist weapons.• "Bot Accelerator" – 400 MSP
This upgrade decreases the harvesting time for each Scavenger Bot by 50%. Get a rapid restock from your Scavenger Bot whenever you need to top up on Tungsten, Semiconductors, Scrap Metal, Somatic Gel, Transducers, and Ration Seals. Resources can be used to craft weapon parts, consumable items, and suit upgrades. This upgrade is included with the Tau Volantis Survival Kit.• "Bot Capacity Upgrade" – 400 MSP
This upgrade doubles the amount of resources - including Ration Seals - that each Scavenger Bot will deliver to you at the Bench. Quickly stock up on Tungsten, Semiconductors, Scrap Metal, Somatic Gel, and Transducers. Resources can be used to craft weapon parts, consumable items, and suit upgrades.• "Bot Personality Pack" – 400 MSP
This upgrade contains an ANG-3 Scavenger Bot voice and personality firmware update. It will automatically upload advanced speech and sarcasm protocols to all your Scavenger Bots, giving a voice to the random thoughts whirring around inside their microprocessor-powered brains. What your Scavenger Bots say will depend on how you treat them: avoid deploying voice-enabled bots in heavy combat, hostile conditions, or into the depths of space - unless you want to hear what they REALLY think of you.• "Marauder Pack" – 400 MSP
Contains the Marauder Suit and AL-9 Clearcutter. Marauder Suit: Issued to fearless S.C.A.F. Marauder units during the Separatist Wars, this Suit was used by ship boarding parties to breach Separatist defenses and destabilize their supply chains. AL-9 Clearcutter: The Triple Threat Pulse Rifle is perfect for taking down dense crowds while the J-111 Hydraulic Eviscerator is sturdy enough to cut down close encounters.• "Sharpshooter Pack" – 400 MSP
Contains the Sharpshooter Suit and SMP-90 Sharpshooter. Sharpshooter Suit: This elite military gear was designed for the UN14 Snake Bite Special Ops Division. It features high-impact armor for maximum protection and the No Retreat motto of the Snake Bite troops. SMP-90 Sharpshooter: This weapon is a modified version of the standard Seeker Rifle. It's paired with a wide cutting Line Gun for achieving multiple kills in a single shot. This pack is included with the Tau Volantis Survival Kit.• "Tundra Recon Pack" – 400 MSP
Contains the Tundra Recon Suit and Aegis VII Survivalist. Tundra Recon Suit: Worn by early Tau Volantis expeditionary teams, this suit is woven with paraffin-based nanotech fibers, to maintain body heat under any condition. Aegis VII Survivalist: Named after the remote planet of Aegis VII, this weapon combines a Plasma Cutter and Suspended Ripper. It sports a titanium finish designed to withstand the harshest of planetary conditions. This pack is included with the Tau Volantis Survival Kit.DmC: Devil May Cry - more details here (Released January 30th)

I'll stick with my three weapons from the slim Jim deal for dead space. Too much is actually a bad thing...EA should figure that out sometime. Previous dead space games, mass effect, and dragons age all suffered from the same problem, with so much to choose from at launch that you end up never using things.
Look at me so I can finish!

(and all this before 3 was even in development.}

It's tempting to drop that 1200MSP on the DS3 pack. I wonder if it will help negate the need/want to micro transaction?

I doubt there will be a need to buy any of this DLC either, there wasn't in the first two games.

I wouldn't buy any of them though - Dead Space 2 offered a LOT more in each 400msp pack than just a single rig and weapon...

The Bot DLC is the only one that seems worth it. You can spend in-game cash or microsoft points for the micro transactions.

Dead Space 1 and 2 DLC Armor offered stat bonuses... I see only cosmetic purposes in these costumes....

The Tank Armor was the Best in DS1 and Super Nova Armor was Okay in 2 until you hit the Advanced Suit.

DS3 has no need for any of these outfits

why is it they give people the option to buy stufff to make the game easier. like dead space 2 im one of the few who did it with just a plasma cutter while 90% bought those weapon packs. my point is IF YOU CANT DO A DAMN GAME THEN GET BETTER AT IT!!! if you dont youll never get better. moral is do it legit dont waste any extra money and feel proud that you werent milked for money. the only dlc i will get is story stuff and maybe the scavenger bot voices when it hits DOW.
