The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Announced

Game Informer has a long history of nailing exclusive reveals to hot, up-coming, sometimes unannounced games. They've managed to do so again with their March cover which reveals The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, sequel to their Xbox 360 debut, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings and the PC title The Witcher.

GI's Adam Biessner (writer of the piece) kicks off the magazine's exclusive coverage with the following quote to tease your inner RPG fan:

Our March cover story gives a world-exclusive peek into the next generation of RPGs with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. This standalone sequel takes the fascinating stories and characters, non-linear plotlines, and difficult decisions that the franchise is known for and puts them all in an open world 30 times larger than the previous game – an enormous setting even larger than Skyrim's vast expanse, made possible with the new REDengine 3 technology that developer CD Projekt RED is debuting with the game.
Game Informer has also posted a video of the team at CD Projekt RED speaking on what to expect from their upcoming sequel.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be the focus of GI's online coverage for most of the month and to facilitate all of that exclusive goodness, they've created a hub where all of that delicious coverage will be posted.

Now I know what you're thinking:

That's AWESOME news! I can't wait to play this game on my 360!
You may need to settle down a bit, current-generation lover. CD Projekt RED has said that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be making its 2014 release on PC and "all high-end platforms available". We don't want to say this is 100% a next-gen game, but, well... yeah... start savin'.
