As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster.~ Henry Hill
You may think that the gangster life is one of luxury, banana daiquiris, and primo seats to the cabaret, but it's not. It's about planning, execution, and (every once in a while) going to the mattresses.
In this week's Achievement Preview Spotlight, we're going to take a look at what it's going to take to make some tasty achievements sleep with the fishes in Omerta: City of Gangsters
Europe may have had this game for a few days, but we North Americans haven't yet had the chance to hide a horse head in a producer's bed. Before we get into making you the next Don, let's take a peek at some of the achievements.
First and foremost, Omerta: City of Gangsters
has four secret achievements worth a total of 115G, so it's going to be looser than a stoolie under a light with details.
The first achievement is one near and dear to my heart, just like Johnny Fontane.
This achievement might not be too hard to garner in your playing time, but the name is clearly one worth mentioning.
Gangsters have a reputation; you either love them or hate them. Thusly, the next achievement is one you will either love or hate.
How *likeable* will you be as your hitting potential CI's with a hammer and holding guns up to bandleaders heads? If you're more of the Tommy DeVito type of gangster, the next achievement may be more your speed.
Funny? Funny how?
I'm going to take issue with this next achievement for the simple fact that it doesn't pay homage to the original, Luca Brasi.
One would think that those 200 health points are going to come in pretty handy when you start wars against the other families.
The one positive side to Europe getting the game a few weeks ahead of North America is that we can already take a peak at some of the top ratios. The next achievement will probably be the white whale for Omerta
Say hello to my little friend! With a niche simulation title, multiplayer matches could be few and far between and victories may be even more scarce.
Along with the Scarface Achievement, there are some other ones that look to have high point values: Brothers in Arms
(Win a Cooperative multiplayer mission.), Weapons Collector
(Purchase 13 unique Weapons in the Campaign), and Taste of Victory
(Win a Competitive multiplayer mission.).
At the end of the day, if you've got a little patience you should be able to get most of these achievements (excluding the MP ones) without too much hassle.Omerta: City of Gangsters
is available in Europe now and will be released in North America this coming Tuesday, February 12th.
