Commentators Confirmed for Ashes Cricket 2013

Earlier this month, 505 Games detailed various aspects of the gameplay mechanics that are set to feature in its upcoming cricket simulation title,

The previous coverage shows that accurate gameplay mechanics are crucial to creating a realistic virtual representation of the sport. It's not enough just to have nice visuals and intuitive controls though and Trickstar Games has acknowledged that the in-game audio, in particularly the match commentary, needs to be up to scratch as well. With that point in mind, the developer has revealed that three ex-professionals have been signed up to provide authentic match analysis.

The trio is made up of Mark Nicholas, David Lloyd and Michael Slater, who have a vast wealth of cricket experience between them spanning over 30 years. Mark is no stranger to the commentary box having anchored cricket commentary in both England and Australia following his successful playing career and he will take on a similar role as the lead commentator in Ashes Cricket 2013. Mark will be ably assisted by both David (affectionately known as "Bumble") and Michael, the latter of whom he has worked with already during his time at Channel 9 in Australia.

Ralph Pitt-Stanley, General Manager for UK & Export at 505 Games, is pleased to have all three commentators on board:
Whether listening on the radio or watching on TV, commentary is a key part to the overall experience... It was therefore important we faithfully replicated this in ASHES CRICKET 2013 and with Bumble, Nicholas and Slater we have three of the finest and most loved commentators in the game today
The latest Ashes series will begin in July, but Ashes Cricket 2013 is scheduled to arrive beforehand on June 21st, 2013.
