I don't understand why people would buy this when there's Madden, maybe you have to American to understand the need for a game like this.

Sure it looks nice, but as I said before, I need game features before I even think of a purchase.

I'll purchase one of these games again once they bring back custom play making abilities. Otherwise it will continue to be a bargain bin buy from me. Ever since 2008, neither Madden or NCAA has had the custom plays feature. There's still custom playbooks, per se, but you MUST use the preset plays already on the game.

I used to spend hours concocting ridiculous plays and testing them out. I even had a whole playbook of created plays that I used to whoop up on all my friends with. It was full of formations like the "nebula" and the "sidewinder I"...good times until they scrapped it.

But I have bought this franchise every year since 2004 and only get Madden every 2-3 years or so. The gameplay is solid, and I prefer the recruiting and development aspect (with limited retainment time for your top talent) over the financial simulation in NFL.

Also College Football is a huge sport in the US. During Early football season Saturday and Sunday's equal football days.

There's just something special about it that can't be explained. Perhaps its the sense of ownership you get from cheering for the team of the school you went to, feeling like you are actually a part of it and its a part of you. Or even the sense of community that comes from supporting the local school, even if you didn't actually go there. For many Americans, college sports (especially football) is intertwined with many of the great memories of our youth, and you just don't quite get that same feeling and sense of ownership with the NFL or pro sports in general.

And college football is definitely king in the south, but also, college football isn't nascar. I am from Ohio, in a region of the country known as the Midwest, aka "Big Ten country". College Football is revered here in this region as well.

Not to mention one of the top contenders for the national championship these past few seasons has been University of Oregon, which is obviously in the Northwestern United States. And to push that point even further, NCAA football is huge in SoCal and Texas as well. So to say that college football is only enjoyed in the Southeast is just short-sighted.

And I completely agree with you on your points about the sense of ownership. The NFL also feels a lot more commercialized and slower to me. I used to watch the NFL and play Madden games, but stopped after watching my first NCAA game. I never went back.

Hell, I even got a few of my football-bashing friends into college football. It's... well, it's a totally different ball game.

The one thing they could improve would be stadium improvements. It would be awesome to take a 1 star team with a max stadium seating up to a 5 or 6 star national condentar with a stadium capable of holding over 100,000 people! that would be the cherry on the cake
