Remedy Entertainment are best known for the Alan Wake
franchise on the Xbox 360, or the original Max Payne
games before Rockstar acquired the license. The developer is now branching out and has announced a new IP that is heading to the Xbox One: Quantum Break
. During the console reveal, Microsoft announced that they had 15 new titles in development exclusively for the Xbox One and that eight of them were new IPs. This game is one of them.
The premise of the game will sound familiar to players of Defiance
. Quantum Break
will attempt to blur "the line between gaming and TV by integrating drama and gameplay into one seamless, uniquely immersive experience." The intention is that playing the game will affect the events of the TV show, while the TV show will then impact back into the game.
Announcement trailers can often be confusing. This one is no different as we get to watch two seemingly unrelated clips running side by side -- one from the TV show and one from the game.
Who would have thought that one innocent looking child could cause that much destruction? Those of you who can't watch the trailer can instead take a look at these screens:Quantum Break
is yet to receive a release window.
