Infinity Ward has released a 30 minute pre-E3 gameplay trailer for Call of Duty: Ghosts
showing the next generation hardware in action. It comes complete with interviews and other insights into the creation of the game. Among the hosts are CEO of Activision Publishing, Eric Hirshberg.
The video showcases two campaign levels with the first titled "Into the Deep", an underwater mission that has the player swimming through some stunning looking coral areas with gun primed and ready for action. The player is forced to evade the ping of sonar from a distant submarine, as well as take out hostile divers in the area with our first glimpse of underwater shooting. The scenery is lush, with visible schools of fish, sharks and an abundance of other marine life.
In another gameplay video, we are treated to the mechanics of how the now infamous dog "Riley" will work. At certain moments through the campaign, players will take control of the companion dog to sneak around human enemies, distract them with barks, and tear out their throats - ouch!
I won't spoil the rest of the video, but it includes some interesting tactical scenes, some new high tech gear, more frenetic action, a nice montage of cinematic sequences included within the game and, of course, that dog. It's exciting stuff; do you think Call of Duty: Ghosts
has some promise as the next installment in the franchise?Call of Duty: Ghosts
is set to blast into stores on November 5th.
