Rocksmith 2014 Revealed

Undoubtedly, many people were surprised when Ubisoft announced their foray into the rhythm-action genre, Rocksmith. After all, the game-type had already reached its pinnacle and was in the midst of a steady decline. Ubisoft's Rocksmith, however, presented players with the opportunity to plug in an actual guitar - an important, and distinguishing, characteristic.

Today, Ubisoft revealed that they are releasing a follow-up to the game called Rocksmith 2014. Along with a new title, the game is set to feature new songs and new gameplay modes.

One of the new game modes is the "Session Mode," which "allows you to jam with a customizable band that actively and dynamically responds to your playing."

Rocksmith 2014 is coming to the Xbox 360 in October. Pre-orders will net you a free download of "Cherub Rock" by the Smashing Pumpkins. Also, for those of you who have the first game, there is a pre-order available that does not include the needed cable for plugging in your guitar. The cable-less version of the game will cost $20 less than the one that includes it.
