wow, they really don't want you using anything from the Xbox 360 do they?

Also console achievement? I can see achievements getting really messed up...

I preordered one. I'm not sure about the tv functionality (I don't watch much television) but I liked what I saw and the DRM/used gaming issues don't bother me at all. My current 360 is always connected to the internet. All of the issues that are making gamers jump ship really don't plague me at all and are of zero concern.

At a guess it is something like this Xbox 360 Inner Circle

Already pre-ordered my Day One edition. Along with Dead Rising.
Does it not come with a headset then? I guess I will need one of them too.

Day One Edition bonus content was also announced for the following titles:
- Forza Motorsport 5 - Access to four cars tuned to the top of their class.
- Ryse: Son of Rome - Exclusive multiplayer map and sword with bonus attributes.
- Kinect Sports Rivals - Exclusive sporting equipment that separates your Champion from the rest of the world.
- Dead Rising 3 - Exclusive Frank West and Chuck Greene Tribute Packs with bonus attributes.

I wonder if that means they are launch titles?

The exclusive achievement is very similar to the 360 launch team achievement awarded to the members of Microsoft behind the launch team of the Xbox 360.

The achievement is worth 0 GS and is meant only as a commemorative token of your participation in the launch of the new Xbox One. The tile features a dark-grey background with the circular Xbox logo and the text Xbox beneath it (the logo we've all come to know).

There’s already an achievement for pre-ordering the console: Microsoft Store

I’m guessing these are going to be along the lines of those weird NXE or Launch Team achievements that Major Nelson and other MS employees have. Since they are for zero points they almost act like a badge of sorts rather than an achievement since your total gamerscore doesn’t go up. If the score for these remains at zero or very very low amounts I don’t see much harm in them myself. I guess it inflates your completed games a bit too –again I see little issue with this unless it gets really out of hand. Steam already has achievements for buying games during a sale or logging on at a certain time so it’s nothing new.

These four are confirmed as launch titles because each first packaging if you pre-order them also comes with "Day One 2013" on the box for the game as well.
Stupidity is so infectious.

Seems the gaming media is stirring the pot for readership and gamers, already prone to absurd fanboyism, are eating it up. Unless you live in war torn Africa, you should be able to connect to the net once a day, or else consider getting a new hobby.

Or like they've said previously that achievements are expanding beyond games. It'll probably be like wikia or slashdot style achievements; you'll earn for doing random things on the console... I'd guess for buying content, installing apps, using it days in a row, spending so many hours on it, or doing some random act that's supposed to help them collect data on you.
Life, it's funny that way.

Got my console preordered, well actually 2, because you know, gonna be selling one on Ebay around Christmas time.

I think I'll get Forza 5 and Ryse on launch day. Good stuff. Oh and I hope Minecraft will be out on console release, so I can stack achievements in that game.

OT: Does anyone use IGN, I do, but damn they are such a PS fanboy site. They pretty much bashed Minecraft, and called it a kids game. I think 6,000,000 players alone on Xbox says differently.
