Long Awaited Fez Patch Officially Announced

By Marc Hollinshead, 3 years ago
Almost a year ago, it was announced that Polytron's pixelated platformer, Fez, would not be receiving a fix to the save corruption issue that occurred for a very small percentage of players who downloaded the game's original update. This was because the developers would be getting charged tens of thousands of dollars from Microsoft to re-certify the game, and they simply couldn't do that. However, creator of Fez, Phil Fish, has just announced via his own Twitter feed that the game will finally be getting patched. Luckily, Microsoft stopped charging for patches back in April so it looks like this one is on track! All he has revealed so far is this:

GOOD NEWS EVERYONE: we're going to patch FEZ on XBLA! It's going to take a few months, though. but we're doing it!
Rejoice Fez fans! It looks like there will be a bit of a wait until this patch goes live, but after a whole year of nothing, I'm sure this will be a great relief for some players. Stay tuned for when we have more details.

To summarize Marc in two words, it would be "Christian Gamer." You will usually find him getting stuck into story heavy action-adventure games, RPG's and the odd quirky title when he isn't raving about Dark Souls and Mass Effect. Outside the world of gaming, Marc attends and helps out in his church on a regular basis and has a not-so thrilling job in a supermarket.
