E3:2010 - Pre-E3 Trailer Park Round-Up

By zigs00, 6 years ago
Just ahead of the onslaught of huge E3 news and reveals, it seemed apt to round up the handful of straggling trailers that may have been missed and throw them all in the one place for your convenience! All the following trailers are in glorious HD:

Bodycount -

Spiritual successor to last gen's stylised actioner Black, Codemasters' upcoming Bodycount is set to be a fairly crazy, balls-to-the-wall FPS set in chaotic surroundings. The pre-alpha trailer oozes vibes of Crackdown (cultish narrator talking directly to you, orbs dropping out of the enemies you kill, bright colours) and Resident Evil (the huge Psycho Tank enemy bursting through the walls with his massive weapon in particular a great homage to Resi 4), but spun together with its fresh approach to FPS's, throwing the rulebook away and throwing as much crazy into the pot as it can.

Devil's Third -

Devil's Third is the upcoming shooter/melee actioner from Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden creator Tomonobu Itagaki. This is the first trailer revealed for the game, and sees an awesome level of acrobatics, action and blood as it shows off the game's three protagonists running and killing their way through a city. Not that much is known about the game yet, but in terms of debut trailers, it definitely has enough to whet your appetite.

Homefront -

THQ's Homefront teaser outlines the game's plot, which sees the alliance of North and South Korea in the not-too-distant future and their eventual attack on the US. The all too believable plot is written by Apocalypse Now and Red Dawn writer John Milius, with the game itself set to be an explosive, action-packed FPS set in 2027.

Mafia II -

The ingeniously named, crime-caper sandbox has been described as having a deep and compelling narrative, some of which is outlined briefly in the above E3 trailer. The video shows off a hefty chunk of the pretty graphics and brilliant character models the game has on offer, ending on a screen revealing the impending release date for the game: August 24th in North America, August 27th worldwide.

Marvel vs. Capcom 3 -

The MvC3: Fate of Two Worlds E3 trailer is an expanded version of the announcement trailer, showing off more of the game's gorgeous design style and revealing two of the new characters: Marvel anti-hero Deadpool and Devil May Cry's brooding, grey-haired Dante (alongside the previously confirmed Ryu, Morrigan, Chris Redfield, Wolverine, Hulk and Iron Man).

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World -

Tying-in with the awesome upcoming movie, the Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game trailer is a slice of retro heaven, showing off the old-school side-scrolling beat 'em up that Ubisoft are developing. Pretty visuals, four player co-op and a perfect, colourful art style, the game has definite potential to surpass most movie videogame tie-ins with its simplistic, retro approach. The only bad news is that it's a PSN timed exclusive, but it will grace our console soon after!

Star Wars The Force Unleashed II -

The Force Unleashed 2 gets a pretty awesome CGI short for E3, over four minutes of action seeing Starkiller fight his way through masses of Stormtroopers in an epic scale battle after his betrayal at the hands of Darth Vader. Keep watching right to the end of the impressive trailer for more hints about the upcoming game's plot...

So what do you guys think, anything there that's grabbed your attention or got you excited? Even if the answer is no, expect plenty more where this came from as the seemingly endless onslaught of E3 information just keeps snowballing this week!
