"Games with Gold" August Games Confirmed

By Marc Hollinshead,
Another month is here, so what would it be without more free games? The "Games with Gold" deals over these past few months have brought us Fable III, Defense Grid: The Awakening, and Assassin's Creed II, and now you'll be able to get your hands on a whole THREE free games this month. How does becoming a super-soldier and hordes of flesh eating dead people sound to you? Awesome, did you say? Well then, it looks like you're in luck!

Use the city as your playground as you tear up the streets with crazy superhuman abilities in Crackdown. This first "Games with Gold" deal for the month is available from TODAY until August 15th, and can be downloaded here.

Commencing on August 16th, gamers will be able to download the next pair of free games, which will be Dead Rising 2 (Xbox 360) and Dead Rising 2: Case Zero. All of us here on TrueAchievements never get sick of slaughtering the evil undead, so when there's a chance to do it for free, why on earth would you pass up that chance? Remember, these particular games do not currently have free status, so unless you're willing to pay for them, don't download them just yet. We'll make sure to remind you on August 16th, though!

If you're in Germany, however, then you'll be getting some different deals this month. The first of these, which is available from today, is Shadowrun, and it can be downloaded from here. Then from August 16th, Lost Planet 2 will be the next deal. If you're not in Germany, these two games will NOT be free on their respective dates.

To remind everyone, the "Games with Gold" deals will be continuing each month, until we hear otherwise, and will be giving players free titles on both the 1st and 16th of the month. Stay tuned for the next deals!

To summarize Marc in two words, it would be "Christian Gamer." You will usually find him getting stuck into story heavy action-adventure games, RPG's and the odd quirky title when he isn't raving about Dark Souls and Mass Effect. Outside the world of gaming, Marc attends and helps out in his church on a regular basis and has a not-so thrilling job in a supermarket.
