F1 2013 Online Pass Dropped By Codemasters

Codemasters brought in their online pass system in 2011 and it has featured on all of their games since. Yesterday, however, Codemasters released a statement revealing that their upcoming game, F1 2013, will not be featuring the online pass.

A spokesman for Codemasters had this to say:
We recently reviewed the VIP Pass activation system and took the decision not to include it in either F1 2013 and F1 2013: Classic Edition.

Players will not be required to activate multiplayer functionality via a VIP Pass code and we have no plans to replace the pass with an alternative paid-for activation system in the game when it launches this October.
It is unknown if Codemasters will be removing the online pass system on all of their upcoming games or just on F1 2013.

Both editions of F1 2013 will be hitting shop shelves on October 4th in Europe and October 8th in North America.
