Call of Duty: Ghosts Multiplayer Reveal Trailer

By Tuscani Terror, 3 years ago
As many are quite aware, today was an important reveal for the upcoming Call of Duty: Ghosts. Infinity Ward and Activision broadcasted live footage of the multiplayer reveal on Xbox Live as a huge number of gamers absorbed every frame of video. For those of you unable to watch the trailer live, we at TA have got your six.

The new trailer was far from the only intel released today. Infinity Ward shared the new features that aim to revamp the series. You might want to camp out for a moment as there's a lot of info about to come flying at you.

An important first in the long-running franchise is the ability to customize the appearance of your character. You'll have access to heads, body types, gender, and more which can be combined to create over 20,000 different looks for your soldier. Expanding on this feature, you'll be able to create up to ten different squad members who will all contribute XP to your Prestige level.

Profile Transfer
Speaking of ranking up and Prestige, it has been confirmed that your Call of Duty: Ghosts profile will transfer from the Xbox 360 version to the Xbox One. In other words, if you decide to get both, you won't be starting over. This, combined with today's Season Pass announcement will greatly benefit anyone interested in playing this title on both systems.

Squad Mode
The latest Call of Duty introduces a new game mode called Squads. This is a six-on-six game mode that doesn't necessarily require twelve human players. You can compete in 1 vs. 1 matches where you and your squad take on another player and their squad. You can also play on a team of up to six real players. Basically, you can have any combination of A.I. and actual players. Real friends may drop in and out at any time to replace one of your A.I. members.

It should also be noted that your A.I. squad members earn XP. You'll want to build your squad well though, as they can be challenged even when you're offline. If you were thinking it wouldn't be a challenge against A.I. opponents, you were mistaken. The A.I. will mimic tactics of real players to include side-strafing, jump-shooting, corner-camping, and other techniques that make you curse at people in the lobby.

Dynamic Map Events
The multiplayer maps in Call of Duty: Ghosts will now incorporate traps and player-activated events that will alter the flow of the game. Additionally, there will be map-specific killstreaks that, when activated, serve to change the whole feel of the map.

Companion App
This new feature allows you to change your squad or loadout on a second screen. This includes a one-touch change of loadouts before your next spawn while in a match. It also allows you to share your conquests or humiliations via Twitter and Facebook after the match ends.

Clan Support
Call of Duty: Ghosts also integrates a larger range of clan support. You'll be able to become a member of a clan, form a new one, or manage an existing one using the aforementioned companion app. Your clan will be able to earn in-game rewards. You'll also be able to increase the competition in clan vs. clan playlists. Using the Call of Duty app, you can also edit your clan emblem, use clan chat, and a rally-up feature. These and other features aim to create an environment where even a single member (of any skill level) can find a way to help support their clan.

Season Pass
The season pass was also confirmed today and will include four DLC map packs and the "Ghost Team Leader Pack". The "Ghost Team Leader Pack" will be available on day one and consists of a multiplayer character modeled after a single-player campaign character along with other digital content. The DLC map packs are expected to start arriving in 2014. The season pass will be available for 4000 MSP (compared to 1200 MSP each).

Collector's Editions
The Hardened Edition will include a copy of the game, the DLC Season Pass, limited edition Collectable Steelbook, and Paracord Strap.

The Prestige Edition will include everything contained in the Hardened Edition as well as a 1080p HD, water-resistant, wearable camera based on the one that appears in the game.

Call of Duty: Ghosts arrives at retailers on November 5th for the Xbox 360 and later this year for the Xbox One.
