Dark Souls II Forges A Hero

By Keith Gray, 3 years ago
Earlier this month, Namco Bandai Games released a teaser video for From Software's upcoming RPG sequel, Dark Souls II. The teaser footage seemed to suggest that the developer was preparing to reveal the identity of a new hero who will grace the title. However, the hero still remains nameless, albeit we do now know some more information about this hero's attitude and fortitude. The latter results from the fact that Namco Bandai Games has now released the full piece of footage that begins by describing the new hero as "...a man alone and never more than a sword's edge away from death."

To help us understand the equipment that is required by a man who lives life on such a knife edge, Namco Bandai Games has tasked Armedia, a group of armour specialist based on the Franco-Swiss border, to recreate the body armour, shield, and clothing that such a warrior would need to survive. The full trailer gives a summary of the eight-week-long project that involves incredible skill and craftsmanship.

Dark Souls II is scheduled for release around March 2014.
