PopCap has some pretty ambitious plans for Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare
, but these plans won't be including any sort of single player experience. The developer feels that Garden Warfare
simply plays better with others.
PopCap told Shacknews
that Plants vs. Zombie: Garden Warfare
will be multiplayer only. This decision was made presumably to put all their eggs into one basket. As pointed out in our Gamescom coverage
, there are a lot of eggs in
that basket, including 24-player multiplayer and 4-player co-op. Also, Xbox One will have exclusive 2-player split screen co-op, as well as Boss Mode. This mode integrates both Kinect for Xbox One and Smartglass functionality.
Available as either a retail disc or a download, Garden Warfare
packs a lot of multiplayer action, but at a reduced price. The game will retail on Xbox One for $39.99, and for $29.99 on Xbox 360. For comparison sake (in case American Dollars isn't the currency you buy your games with) a full retail game usually has an MSRP of $59.99. The game is set to get bigger after launch as well, being expanded with DLC and other content updates.Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare
arrives on Xbox One and Xbox 360 in Spring 2014.
