PES 2014 to Get Multiplayer Updates

By Rebecca Smith, 3 years ago
At the start of this month, we detailed the many game modes that would be available for Pro Evolution Soccer 2014. There is just one catch, though -- none of the multiplayer modes will be accessible without the implementation of a couple of title updates.

The first free title update is available on day one. As soon as a player starts the game while online, access to the Friendly Match Lobby and Ranking Match will be unlocked. Master League Online will also be available. European players will already have downloaded this patch, but it will be ready and waiting for North American players when they get the game on Tuesday.

A second patch will follow this one at some point in the future. This patch will finally allow access to all of the online modes with the inclusion of the 11 vs. 11 multiplayer features. To prevent unbalanced teams, PES 2014 implements a new matchmaking system that places similarly ranked players together.

The second patch also includes roster updates and cosmetic improvements, such as facial features and "overall aesthetics". Although we don't have a release date for this patch, it is due to arrive "in the weeks after the initial launch".
