Persona 4: The Ultimate Ultra Suplex Hold Revealed

By Rebecca Smith, 2 years ago
If you remember, way back at the start of its development, Persona 4: Arena was actually known as Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena. After realising that the title may be a bit too much of a mouthful, they shortened it. They haven't learnt their lesson yet though. P4A is going to be getting a sequel, a game that is currently called Persona 4: The Ultimate Ultra Suplex Hold. Details of the game's existence began emerging at the end of August after developer Arc System Works held location tests at two arcades in different cities in Japan. One month later, we finally get some awaited details.

Many of P4A's fighters will be returning. Yu Narukami, Elizabeth, Labrys, Chie Satonaka, Teddie, Yosuke Hanamura, Naoto Shirogane, Aigis, Akihiko Sanada, Kanji Tatsumi, Yukiko Amagi and Mitsuru Kirijo have all been confirmed. Yukari Takeba and her Persona Isis will be joining the crew from Persona 3, as will Junpei Iori and his Persona Trismegistus. A brand new character has also been revealed. Apart from his red hair and character art below, little is known about Sho Minazuki.

A few days after the events of P4A, the Investigation Team and the Shadow Walkers are still enquiring about the person responsible for the P-1 Grand Prix. Once they think that everything has gone quiet, the Midnight Channel is broadcast in Inaba once again. The channel is promoting a new tournament called the P-1 Grand Prix, where space and time are distorted, people are disappearing and Inaba is shrouded in a red mist. When it seems like things can't get any worse, the leader of the Shadow Operatives Mitsuru appears to be crucified on TV. Can the Shadow Walker Emergency Rescue Team save him and his company and will the issue ever be resolved?

Persona 4: The Ultimate Ultra Suplex Hold is coming to Japanese arcades at some point during the early winter period. Versions of the game for the current generation of consoles are also thought to be in development, but we're yet to receive confirmation of this. Publisher Atlus has set up a teaser site that is counting down to November 24th, when we're sure that more information will become available. As always, we'll be looking out for that!
