Project Spark Will Not Require Xbox Live Gold

Project Spark will not require an Xbox Live Gold subscription according to Team Dakota's community manager, Mike Lescault. On an Xbox One Reddit thread, Lescault cleared up some confusion and confirmed that a Gold subscription would not be necessary to play the game. He also reiterated that the game will be available on the Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Windows 8, which alludes to the fact that a subscription will not be necessary on any of the platforms.

Additionally, a newly released video shows off the creations of members of the community who are participating in the Project Spark alpha. Some of these creations look pretty incredible; take a look for yourself:

Project Spark does not yet have an official release date. However, a beta for the Xbox One version is on track to launch in January, 2014, and you can sign up for that here.
