Dead Rising 2 DLC and Combo Cards

Dead Rising 2 DLC and Combo Cards

Give me now! NOW! NOW! NOW!

Written by dropK1CK ninJA on 13 July 10 at 09:52 , updated on 13 July 10 at 09:52

The Dead Rising 2 information train seems to be working at high speeds lately. Perhaps there is a build-up to a release date announcement for Dead Rising: Case Zero, but that is purely the author's speculation. The latest bit of information to seep out into the internet is some of the pre-order DLC and a little more information about weapon construction.

One of the things that makes people really excited for Dead Rising 2 is, yes zombie killing, but more importantly: weapon creation. Every time I read about this game it brings me back fondly to Home Alone on the Genesis. I have yet to encounter a much more entertaining item creation system since then. I believe Dead Rising 2 will win on that one.

Combo cards are an item that you can hold in the game that help provide players with different possibilities for item creations. 31 of these in-game cards are being manufactured to be given away with each purchase of Dead Rising 2! Inside of each game of Dead Rising 2 you will get 3 random combo cards of your own! It is unclear at this time if these are pre-order bonuses or will be available across all retail releases. UPDATE: Since more information has come out these are pre-order bonuses for Japanese customers, so far. It is unclear if other regions will be able to swap cards with their buddies or not. I believe the phrase is 'lucky gits'.

Those who also pre-order the game will get a code for a DLC package titled "Paradise Pack (Psycho)". Not much is known about the content but Capcom did recently confirm that this DLC will be available at a later date as paid content. I really wish other companies took a similar approach to pre-order exclusives. They do make a dilemma at times on where to get a game, but at the same time I would pay some MSP for a Golden Proton Pack.

sometimes you get lucky with DLC without pre-ordering. i bought Ghostbusters from gamestop and inside the case was the card for the golden proton pack and it had never been used.

You can get lucky. Some people are not for smart. I have borrow GTA IV from my friend, he doesn't even know there is 1 month + 48 hour xbox live in it :S.

Original post: Rater this then an code for playing online. Making it more likely people will buy new then used. And that way get the DLC and maybe save some money for not buying M$ Point :)

i second that, i recently brought alan wake (preowned) and it had a dlc card in the case. which was a right touch... free dlc worth 800mp, sweet.

i am looking forward to DR2, so i'll probably preorder anyway... im just praying it dont come with one of those 72hr achievements

Ok, I bought my 360 years ago just so I can play the original Dead Rising. I loved the game and was thinking about getting Dead Rising 2, but thanks to the power of Ebay and seeing that the price of games usually drop about $20 if you wait a month of 2, I was going to give this game the same treatment. With a DLC package, combo cards, and a ninja outfit for pre-ordering at Gamestop, I can't help but pay full price. I love companies that give stuff away for free for being faithful customers. Hopefully Gears of War 3 will do the same since part 1 and 2 were no-brainers midnight releases for me.
Why do I have to be such an achievement whore?

This does nothing for me.They will stay in the box if they're included. What could you do with them anyway? You could try and collect them all I guess but that'll end up costing you a lot of money. Offer me something worthwhile. I don't really care so long as the disc is in the box and they hurry up and give us a Case 0 release date.

In fact, why do you need the game? All you're going to do is just twirl the thumbs sticks around and hit an occasional button. You won't be doing much for yourself either.
