GTA Online - Stimulus Update, DLC Announcement

First stimulus payment bumped to next week

Written by Marc Caccamise (MarcC29) on 26 October 13 at 05:54

For those of you who have been eagerly waiting throughout the week for your first Stimulus Package payment to arrive, you've surely noticed that it hasn't. The reason for that is because Rockstar has announced that the payments will now start to arrive sometime next week, after the newest title update.

The Stimulus Package was first announced by Rockstar as a thank you gift of sorts to players for sticking with them through some of the technical launch issues of GTA Online. Their original goal was to have the first payment deposited into players' accounts as early as last week, alongside the 1.0.4 title update. However, earlier this week Rockstar then set the arrival of the deposit to arrive sometime during this week, which as we know now has turned into hopefully next week.

Now before everyone reaches for their torches and pitch forks, understand that Rockstar do have their reasons for the delay:
We know many of you are anxiously waiting for us to show you the GTA$ Stimulus Package money we announced a couple weeks back. As mentioned in that post, we of course want to ensure that game progress loss issues are sufficiently sorted before distributing the GTA$ to everyone. We have a few more tweaks and fixes to make in a new title update that will hit sometime next week and then we will distribute the cash.Alongside the update on the Stimulus Package came news about the first add-on content update coming in early November. The "Beach Bum Pack" will add new beach-themed vehicles as well as new weapons that will be available in both GTA Online and the Grand Theft Auto V story mode. Additionally, new GTA Online character customizations are coming which will include new tattoos, hairstyles, and much more. To go along with all of that, Rockstar also has brand-new Jobs in all of the major game types set on the coastlines and beach resorts of Los Santos and Blaine County.

Rockstar also mentioned that the GTA Online Content Creator, which will give players the ability craft, publish, rate, and play custom-made Deathmatch and Race Jobs, will also be coming this fall. Creations that are deemed to be exceptional amongst the bunch will branded as "Rockstar Verified" and featured on the Rockstar Newswire and in Social Club events.

Both the "Beach Bum Pack" and Content Creator will be free for players.

Lastly, Rockstar talked about Grand Theft Auto Online Social Club Event weekends which will be starting in November. These events will bring special rewards like limited-edition in-game content, in-game discounts, and prize pack giveaways.

Meh, been selling my $34,000 lampadati repeatably, currently at $5 million. R* can take their microtransactions charity and shove it up their fucking ass.

Then those new 'missions' will just be shitty ones like we have now, money halved everytime you play it.

I really don't care about the stimulus package that much. I'm wanting to know where the heist I was promised are.
Does this smell like chloroform to you?

I was so excited for GTAO and it is nothing but a joke. Bad sport system is severely flawed, no party system kills the online with friends, and they made it impossible to make good money legit because they want you to buy their MT garbage.

All of there "updates" did hardly anything for the game but take out the ways to make money.

they're obviously constantly trying to improve and build the Online part, so I really don't understand all the complaining.

Cool, bro.

ANYWAY, I cannot wait for the creation editor. It'll be exciting to see what people come up with.

I take it by the COD avatar you play COD a lot, so hardly surprising you have the "WAA WAA I WANT IT ALL NOW" in terms of unlocks/money online.

I don't agree with R* nerfing payouts and such, but its still no excuse to flat out glitch millions of $ of money on GTA online. Hopefully you do get reset, and when/if you do you'll quit playing out of pure rage.

We can only hope.

Online grinds always bring out the best in gamers.

I haven't even been bothered to pick the game up yet. I'll probably get it around Thanksgiving at half price ...that's in real money, folks... and then enjoy the single player story campaign for what it is. Dabble in the online, end up at around 80% completion, enjoy the amazing design, and appreciate among the best in open world gameplay.

What I don't see myself doing is getting overly concerned about online game money or lack thereof.

I'm not on a high horse about this. I'm on the baseline. This is normal. Chiggity-check yo self.

Not sure adding this dlc is a good idea right now though. Lots of exploits and bugs need fixing first.

I do love the game but I can't help but feel a tiny bit bored past level 120.

Still I have huge respect for all the effort they are putting in to fixing (Or not) the game. (Minus the mission payouts)

People still complaining about such tiny and pathetic things.
Time to trade it in and get it when it's cheaper

The online was great when it first came out. Everyone would play and grind together and now they keep nerfing the missions so the only way to get ahead is by glitching. They're messing up there own game and I've played it less and less with each update.

How are you getting a new lambadati each time and I thought you could only sell 1 car once a day in GTAO
