Call of Duty: Ghosts Multiplayer Perks Detailed

With less than a week until the release of Call of Duty: Ghosts, it's time to start preparing what your style of play in multiplayer is going to be. Maybe you're going to keep it fast and light and be a run-and-gun type of player, or perhaps you prefer to hang out in the back with your sniper rifle and go for headshots. Whatever your poison may be you'll have many different opportunities to be unique using the newly modified Perks system.

Perks are nothing new to the Call of Duty franchise and neither is having a certain amount of points to attach items to your loadout. However, with the new system of Perks in Ghosts, players will have the ability to customize their loadouts to an even larger extent. Players with a normal loadout will have eight points to spend on Perks, which cost one to five points each, but have the ability to modify their loadout to raise their allotment up to 12 points to spend. Those additional four Perk points are tied to your primary weapon slot, secondary weapon slot, and your lethal and tactical slots. With that being the case, if you want to go into a game with no weapons at all other than your knife and instead have 12 points worth of Perks attached, you can definitely go for it.

Perks are unlocked in two different fashions. The traditional method will be to reach the certain required level in which the Perk will then be unlocked for use. However, if you feel that you can't wait for that you can use your Squad Points to unlock the Perk immediately.

Ghosts Perks

The 35 different Perks belong to one of seven different categories, allowing you to mix and match them as you want. This allows players to come up with any number of different loadout combinations with which to experiment. Here are some examples of these categories:

Sleight of Hand - Faster reloading
Stalker - Move faster while aiming

On the Go - Reload while sprinting
Steady Aim - Increased hip fire accuracy

Takedown - Kill enemies without revealing their death location
Incog - Resistant to targeting systems including: Recon, Thermal, Tracker Sight, and Motion Sensor

SitRep - Detect enemy explosives and tactical equipment
Wiretap - Utilize all active enemy and friendly SAT COMs on the field

Focus - Reduced weapon sway when aiming down sights and reduced flinch when hit
Blast Shield - Increased resistance to explosive damage

Extra Tactical - Additional tactical equipment
Extra Attachment - Extra attachment for your weapons

Gambler - Spawn with a random Perk
Ping - Activate a sonar ping upon killing an enemy, revealing nearby hostiles

Players have less than a week to wait to experiment with these Perks for themselves, as Call of Duty: Ghosts releases on November 5th on the Xbox 360. The game will also be available on the Xbox One at launch.
