South Park: The Stick of Truth Delayed Again

No one ever likes to hear about game delays but, unfortunately, there is another. Ubisoft has announced that South Park: The Stick of Truth (Xbox 360), which was originally slated to release this December, has now been delayed until March 4th, 2014. The Stick of Truth is the just the latest in a list of games to recently be delayed, including Watch_Dogs and The Crew.

This is also not the first time that The Stick of Truth has been delayed. Originally the game was supposed to release sometime in Q4 2012 until THQ delayed it until 2013. THQ would then delay the game for a second time, pushing it back to a release in the 2014 fiscal year. However, THQ went bankrupt and the rights to The Stick of Truth were picked up by Ubisoft.

Ubisoft had then set the release date for the game to December 10th in North America and December 13th in Europe. However, it turned out that there was much more that needed to be done to the game than they had originally believed. Ubisoft North America’s President Laurent Detoc discussed that revelation:

Within three weeks after acquiring the game, we sadly realized we had to turn this thing upside down if we hoped to deliver the experience everybody wanted. It’s been such a major overhaul to get to the point where we are that we couldn’t let it go, even if that meant missing December.
South Park's creators, Matt Stone and Trey Parker, voiced their thoughts on the matter as well:

We always wanted the game to feel like you’re actually in an episode of South Park. Getting the game up to the crappy standards of the show has been a real challenge and we’re excited to say it’s taken way longer than we thought it would.
Perhaps to ease the pain of having to wait an extra couple of months for its release, a new gameplay trailer for The Stick of Truth has been released.

Thank you to all of the members of the community who sent this in!
