PSA: VGX is Tomorrow Night!

By Jonathan Barnes, 2 years ago
Tomorrow night is the first broadcast of VGX, Spike TV's rebranded and retooled Video Game Awards. Whereas previous years have been "focused" on a "Hollywood-style" awards show experience, with a "celebrity" host and "famous" presenters, this year's broadcast aims to minimize the award show aspects and focus on what gamers really want: game reveals, new trailers, interviews with industry scions, and expert panels.

Here's a statement from their website:

While its roots lie in the Video Game Awards, VGX will abandon the traditional Hollywood style award show to feature more world premiere game trailers than ever before, plus extended deep dives into the next generation of games, new looks at gaming culture, one-on-one interviews with the industry's most visionary creatives and expert panels digging into what's coming to consoles in 2014 and beyond. The new format features more games, less fame, in an intimate studio setting.

If you're not in the mood to watch the show live (either on, streaming through Xbox LIVE, or at their streaming website), the TA Action News Team will have you covered. We'll be posting all of the hot trailers and announcements the minute they're available as well as live-tweeting the big moments of the show on our official Twitter feed, @TrueAchievement.

While Bethesda has confirmed that there will be no Fallout 4 announcement, VGX will still be showing off the latest from games like Titanfall, Tom Clancy's The Division, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, South Park: The Stick of Truth (Xbox 360), and more.

VGX begins at 6pm EST tomorrow and will be streamed through a plethora of options including Xbox LIVE and, with a special pre-show (featuring THIEF) beginning at 5:45pm.
