Sniper Elite 3 Trailer Settles in Tobruk

Rebellion has released a new trailer for their upcoming game Sniper Elite 3. Entitled "Tobruk", the trailer gives a little bit more of a firm understanding of where this next game is going to be set, or at least partially set. Tobruk was the location of several significant battles during the fighting in Africa during World War II. Seeing as the game appears to be set in 1942, and will feature the "terrifying bombardment of the ancient city of Tobruk", it's plausible that it will take place in the early summer of that year during the German offensive. Whether the game will revolve firmly or loosely around those events remains to be seen.

Sniper Elite 3 will return players into the boots of American OSS Agent Karl Fairburne three years prior to the events of Sniper Elite V2. Sniper Elite 3 is touted as having scalable battlefields with a mixture of different routes for the player to take, and advanced AI enemies to face. The X-ray kill-camera has also received an overhaul, as seen towards the end of the trailer, and now features muscle layers and circulatory systems.

The fight against the Axis powers continues when Sniper Elite 3 releases on the Xbox One and Xbox 360 in 2014.
