Tetris Coming to Next Gen Consoles

Here's a scary thought for some of the older gamers out there.

You know Tetris? The puzzle-match game that has been seen on consoles from the Atari to the ZX Spectrum (or, if we want to go generationally, Atari to 360)? It's turning 30 this year. Of course, as the game goes "over the hill," that means it's time for celebration, and Ubisoft has an idea in mind. The developer has, evidently, acquired the rights to Tetris, and is planning to release a version of the classic on next gen consoles.

Ubisoft President Yves Guillemot had the following to say:

We're very excited to start working with this world-renowned brand. [We] can't wait to combine Ubisoft's expertise and all the capacities of next-gen consoles to create an exciting new Tetris experience for fans.
At the moment, we have no further details on the title, but as soon as we do, we'll be sure to pass them along.
